I think I can deal with watching Martin, Walsh & SPS silking it up next year.....
you said that.....Oreo Cookie Crew
Switch their careers, Martin would be a 2x premiership player and Brandon Ellis would barely be known to the average fan.Interesting we, on here think $600k a year for Ellis is far too much. But happy to pay the same amount for Martin who is literally still all potential.

No way I’d be passing up on Henry if I’m the dockers, try and trade down to get the extra top player if they can’t match the bid, they do have some good homegrown talent this year but imo his too good to pass up on... just on Walters he’s an absolute gun particularly forward but he’s a class act in the midfield as well he gives them another dimension... Love two of him..This year would be fine, and I will happily take one next year too.
For those accepting that Freo will definitely match, I am not so sure. Jackson and midfield regeneration may be more to their focus. Jackson, Robertson and
Rivers would be high in their ratings. Can't take them all, and they have a reasonable stock of small forward types. I am sure they would rather have the luxury of playing Walters forward than doing the grunt work inside.
I'm not calling every richmond player an overpaid hack, just Ellis... and Jack RiewoldtAnd if my grandad was born with wheels he'd be a bike.
If they switched careers, Martin would be FA and we'd be calling him an 'overpaid Richmond hack' looking to cash in after winning 2 flags and Ellis would be the 'under achieving talent looking to rejuvenate his career' at the Blues I reckon.

It's $3m over 5 years iirc, will be $1m year 1 then probably $500k the next 4.Can see Martin being on something like the following.
Year 1- $1m
Year 2- $600k
Year 3- $600k
Year 4- $600k
Year 5- $600k
Total- $3.4
Average- $680k
League average will be $600k in 2-3 years...
Wasn’t the report over $3m and average over $600k ??It's $3m over 5 years iirc, will be $1m year 1 then probably $500k the next 4.
In total it averages out to $600k a year.
similar level players, one with a much bigger ceiling imo (jarrad waite mk ii?)
I thought it was $3m with an average of $600k.Wasn’t the report over $3m and average over $600k ??
Glad you said Grandad. And if my grandad was born with wheels he'd be a bike.

Glad you said Grandad.
Who do you rate as a better player & fit for our current list?Interesting we, on here think $600k a year for Ellis is far too much. But happy to pay the same amount for Martin who is literally still all potential.
With Martin putting his terms in and has nominated the preseason draft. Does this mean Gold Coast aren’t able to delist him prior?
Matched exactly iirc.
Good point BB. Amazing what difference that makes when a player categorically wants to play for your club. We should all embrace and welcome him with open arms.Ellis chasing the biggest paycheck, Martin knocking back bigger offers from other clubs to play for us - I reckon one of those is more deserving of a slightly inflated contract.
Martin's made it abundantly clear that Carlton is the club he wants to play for. He committed, publicly, and GC made life difficult. So now we top up his contract a little to make sure Melbourne don't pilfer him against his wishes.
Don’t be shitty my like to post ratio shits on yours. Not only that, he or she got likes...
