It's not the 90s anymore.

Hire a professional who understands professional football in this decade.
As the coach of port Melbourne he would of had to virtually run the club -- you would be confident he would have a grasp on operations of a football department and be able to liaise with the director to let the board know what is required ..

Is this the Hamil thing again?

I’m hoping that they didn’t say no to “an offer they can’t refuse”. If that’s the case, I’d be worried about what “mix” they’re in. Hopefully ‘role’ is not a typo for ‘hole’.

We need a cultural change otherwise!

🤪

Seriously though, a very good rumour ✅
Who's the front runner at this stage

The quote is "Number 5 is alive!"

So I ask, does that mean number 5 from the earlier list (Teague)?

Or the famous number 5 wearing C Judd throwing his hat in the ring for something?

Clarkson pushing for a 5th premiership with Carlton?

Any of the other candidates associated with number 5?

TELL US EB!

Ive asked a few times and the answer has never been clear, in relation to the head of football job, who’s good? We can all theorise on coaches, most have a playing career and coaching CV, that’s been open for everyone to see, but who’s the next Balme? How do you or anyone else know?
i dont think us laymen have any idea. At the moment I dont think anyone in the club is capable of a competent selection. Lets hope the new standards also addressees the selection process for internal management decisions and not go with the poach the perceived best policies of the past.

My first thought too.. 'number 5 is alive' my feeling...no way as H.C. but would be brilliant as Footy Head....lovely guy too and excellent communicator.
Admit bias as got to know him a little bit around the stables.
The Ross thing is more obscure...also was at Freo last not Saints...but hey, I' not familiar with how cryptic EB gets.

I think you need to look at the clubs who are just very professional and make the right decisions time and time again to see who has a good footy boss.
Sydney, Richmond, Geelong, West Coast.
I’d say Port & Brissy as well

Ive decided that next year I’ll be paying my membership on a conditional arrangement to match the players effort. $20 at round one, another $20 at round four, maybe another payment at round 10 and so on..
Liddle will likely structure it this way himself, then count it as 3 memberships.

As Clarko's journey with Hawthorn comes to an end in 2 weeks, and with the Hawks pulling off a couple of weeks since the "end" announcement, may have just lit that fire in his belly more-so to reconsider taking a hiatus. I still think with GC and GWS vulnerable to a possible coach change at the end of 2022 being the AFL's agenda, but Clarko doesn't want to move from VIC from reports. If it is Clarko we won't know till 2 weeks after seasons end;

1. We'll have to release Teague
2. Pretend we've done due diligence on his replacement by performing a super quick hiring process on all candidates, will possibly attempt to interview 4-5 who have no hope (like what happened with Teague, Voss pulled out because it was well known Teague would be picked).

Perhaps I'm too young to know. But why are people so vehemently against a role for gary ayres?
Because many on here are keyboard warriors who have never played a serious level of football and ‘think’ they know how to fix the club. Ayres has been very active in the coaching world and I ‘think’ he would make an astute choice. Tap Tap Tap………
