I don't understand this place sometimes.

We don't want introverts, but some posters want Weitering as captain. We want extroverts, but object when Fisher behaves extrovertedly. We want a hard bastard on the field, an old fashioned footballer, but posters line up to make fat jokes about McGovern. We want good disposal, but SPS is uncommitted and soft and LOB is a wuss.

I get that one expects a variety of opinion on this website, but the ability for just weird reads of just utterly mundane situations does my head in sometimes.

re: Fisher it’s pretty easy for me. Some football players are all sizzle no sausage. Some players are both.

Fisher is nothing but sizzle. He’ll tantalise you because he’ll buzz around with some cool tricks and nice steps, but how is he moving the needle.

I couldn’t think of many so called best 22 players we’d miss less than him. Between the injuries and the lack of genuine on field contribution, he’s a player who’s managed to create a reputation that far outweighs the reality.

Possibly in the game directly preceding his call up, but definitely had a body of work before that which was worthy of a call up, so it wasn't like it was just out of nowhere.

Where can one find this "definite" body of work?

He had one game this year.

Just more selection voodoo from Teague being justified with hocus pocus claims.

Fisher is one of my favourite prospects - after most of the others - but unfortunately this is true.

Reality is sometimes very different from ones own perspective and its seriously difficult to shake perceptions - good and bad.

If fisher was nailing some of his shots on goal which were eminently gettable then this would be an entirely different tail - Honey shows us right now what Fisher should be.

Reckon he can definitely turn it around - he has lots of time in traffic though and is a good user of the ball.

That said - unfortunate reality of footy - trade bait.

I've always been a fan of Fisher, but have to agree on the Hollywood stuff. Cripps too. Just play to your strengths and nail the basics first. You don't need to fend off two blokes and run forward to try roost one from 55m. It's not your natural game, even if you might pull it off 3/10.

You wouldn't see it in a team like Sydney. There's a reason they seemingly always have randoms we've never heard of able to come in and do a job.

In a similar vein, one week posters just want a strong player to "support Cripps", the next we apparently just need a fast silky mid instead, as we're "too slow" in the midfield. Lotta cake and wanting to eat it too.

Played one VFL game (round 1 vs Southport) in which he had 38 disposals.

May have played in practise matches before then, but that was his one and only game at VFL level for the year.

Where did you see that?

According to the match report he had 31 - runs for cover.... " Stocker had 31 disposals, 13 marks and a goal "

So info, not 100% on these.

Teague under the scanner, this has been out there for a while.

People who made the decision on Teague, under a lot of scrutiny.

Can't have players dictating on who we should hire as coach etc, club bowed to pressure from the players to hire Teague.

So much money spent on recruits who have not provided much.

The club is a disaster, this is general knowledge.

Needs a cultural shift.

To be fair there is a few more on our list like that

What I want to know is why we've let D Picks stay on the list for this long, with that waist length hair and terrible mustache.

He doesn't even pull his socks up.

I personally think it's a combination of SOS, Bolton and SPS's fault, and all three of them should be put into a cannon and shot in the general direction of Perth.
I thought we let go of Josh Bootsma years ago! ... oh, not that kind of D Picks.

would love Voss and Ross, tactical acumen and seasoned campaigners who would set the playing group straight about who is boss.

Tail has wagged the dog too much.

What about SOS ROSS AND VOSS?

How in the world is SOS coming back to Carlton in the current state of events? That's ridiculous, not whilst Liddle is running things.

And how does Ross Lyon get a gig at the club with the Carlton respects program in place let alone Gouger still sitting in the chair …
