This literally all stemmed from a hawks ITK that said they are after Stocker, but if you checked his history he is like every other ITK, still on the outer. He said Martin wasn't coming to Carlton last year, that definitely happened, he also said cogs was ours, again that happened. Someone could mention curnow to port because he likes the surf and every Bob, dick and harry on this board bites. There was also a few years ago a narrative that cunners was also disliked and on the outer and news flash he still at the club. Clubs ask questions of a lot of players, it is literally there job, and if we are using Insta as a tool then oh my god, then we are in a bit of strife

So Dodo’s requests have been:
7 + Walsh
7 + Charlie
7 + Harry
7 + TDK
7 + future 1st

Gonna be a long few weeks for Austin. I guess at this rate we could be back to a late 1st by trade week...

The campaigner is fair dinkum shambolically delusional.

So the entire team is pissed at Stocker? Guess there is no coming back from that

We have people at the club who can mend such relationships. If he couldn't handle hub life or hanging around for a scratch match 2 out of every 3 weeks, with zero hope of being selected, I kind of get it.

He was a confident young man, something I didn't mind when I watched him play. We are still a very introverted group so I can see how he might stand out negatively.

We have two captains, they should be sorting this sort of shit out.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but The Age reports that Essendon asked for one of Harry, Charlie or Sam for Saad, and when we said ‘No’, Essendon then asked for TDK and our first round pick (7).

Article also says that we rate Saad lower than Pick 7, and that we are looking to ‘split it’ by trading it to Geelong for 2 later first round picks.

See - ‘Carlton rejects Bombers’ first trade query over Saad’ Michael Gleeson The Age.

I hear what you're saying, but you know...Instagram and all...

you know how negotiating goes, tinny - look at your last eba debacle - wanted $300k, 8 weeks leave and a ute - settled for $80k and a dry cleaning account

Also says Carlton have offered Saad 3mil over 5 years... Going by my grade 3 maths that makes it...$600k a year? A far cry from the 800-1mil a year the media were trying to push last week???

News cycle is about a week behind bigfooty as usual.

This is why that club at Tullamarine hasn’t won a final in what will be at least 6,000 plus days. Amateur hour of an organisation from board level and senior management down. At least we’ve taken our medicine.

Here is a player they’ve canned openly on the way out, is out of contract, doesn’t want to be there, is worth a first rounder at best if we’re being fair and they’re asking for a first rounder and one of our best players.

They’re a joke of a club seriously. They overrate themselves they’ve got a we are Essendon **** the rest mentality like we did and they’re where they’re at as a result. Let him walk to the pre season draft for nothing. No clubs want to deal with them and they’re about to go through a rebuild.... good luck to them they’ll be stuck in the abyss unless they change their ways soon

I’m excited by the stocker update. It is never healthy to have a whole group of yes men. We are meant to think and challenge what we are told. The key is to know when to challenge and when to play your role. If stocker can work that out he will be fine and maybe even gain some respect from his peers.

Austin should just shut down negotiations by saying Pick 7 is off the table and drawing a line through the Players that are non-negotiable.

I just don't get why Dodo bothers with this. Like what is the point of making these ridiculous suggestions. I highly doubt it is going to impact what we offer. Just ludicrous

Yep. There's been a lot of talk about negotiating theory and the 'anchoring' effect. But in my experience that stuff just comes across as immature in practice. In reality people behaving unreasonably tends to hurt them more than help them.

As I said at the time, media was going on the front loaded nature of the contracts. We've frontloaded most contracts We've tradedcin since SOS first started to give more flexibility later when the cap expanded. Covid threw a small wrench in that but not enough to make a difference.

The ‘Yes’ men need to be able to work with the challenges. It works both ways.... ;)

I remember when Ryder requested a trade to Port: We want Wines or Wingard otherwise no deal. Deal got done for pick 19

When Daniher wanted Sydney: We want Mills, Blakey, Heeney or McCartin. We need players not draft picks (lol)

Now the same stupid strategy with us... Amateurs. Watch them squirm on the last day of trade period when we offer a pick in the teens or something equivalent. Would love to pick him up in the National Draft and give them nothing. Or better yet let’s hear them threaten to redraft him with pick 6 😂
