Do you think Diesel said that to bag him? In my opinion of course he didn't.
He said it because he sees a great talent and must think that is the way to push him to next level. Not going to waste his breath if he doesnt believe.

What Diesel should have done is discussed with him privately rather than put it out in the public domain for everyone to try interpreting his motives.
I think it's just Diesel's old school approach which is meant to motivate, that is fine with certain personality types but with others can be a disaster too.

Being a club great doesn't automatically validate your opinion of a current player either.

Dow's young he still has time, his problem is that we were forced to throw him in and play him straight away through necessity. It may have set his development back rather than advance it. People really need to learn to have patience with the younger players and give them time.

Also says Carlton have offered Saad 3mil over 5 years... Going by my grade 3 maths that makes it...$600k a year? A far cry from the 800-1mil a year the media were trying to push last week???
I know there's no band picks involved, if the AFL has to mediate because a deal can't be done, that price would yield an end of first round compo pick
I still think paying anything before pick twenty, we are over paying

Did I seriously drive for three hour to come back to, stocker has too many shirtless photos on his Instagram?

seriously people if I was 20 again and looked like him I’d have a lot more shirtless photos than he does on Instagram.

Seriously people?
My inbox is open and I don't judge 😊

We have people at the club who can mend such relationships. If he couldn't handle hub life or hanging around for a scratch match 2 out of every 3 weeks, with zero hope of being selected, I kind of get it.

He was a confident young man, something I didn't mind when I watched him play. We are still a very introverted group so I can see how he might stand out negatively.

We have two captains, they should be sorting this sort of sh*t out.

I get it totally, it's been a very unusual year. In normal circumstances, players go to the club, do what they need to do with their teammates and then go home and don't have to see them until they return to the club if that's what they choose. Suddenly they are thrown together in a restrictive hub situation for a long period of time, not everyone's going to thrive in that environment.

Players don't all need to be mates to play together, plenty of examples of guys who hated each other playing in the same team for years. We had our own example in Diesel and The Hyphen years ago. Not everyone can get along, work it out in the best interests of the club.

Maybe we do have too many introverts, you need a balance. Unless it's something huge it should be able to be sorted out.

I remember when Ryder requested a trade to Port: We want Wines or Wingard otherwise no deal. Deal got done for pick 19

When Daniher wanted Sydney: We want Mills, Blakey, Heeney or McCartin. We need players not draft picks (lol)

Now the same stupid strategy with us... Amateurs. Watch them squirm on the last day of trade period when we offer a pick in the teens or something equivalent. Would love to pick him up in the National Draft and give them nothing. Or better yet let’s hear them threaten to redraft him with pick 6 😂
Honestly I’m really coming around to the idea of letting him slip through to the national draft and take him at our first pick if they are going to play this game.

Still a reasonable use of that pick and just immensely satisfying to not give it to them.

They won’t use 6 on him; this draft is enormous for their future and they won’t waste their pick on a guy who doesn’t want to play for them.

I reckon blues could be pretty confident he’d still be there by the time we had our first pick

Just on Stocker...

It is interesting that his recent "thanks for all the support" post has no comments from Carlton players other than one comment from Liam Jones. Take what you can from that but I infer from that, either he's not well liked at the club or his decision to return from the hub was not well liked among the team. Interesting.

You went through 107 comments to check that?

Split our picks with Geelong or Brisbane. Take Saad with one and a kid with the other. No one would draft Saad with a top 20 draft Pick when he’s asking for $650k, won’t leave Melbourne and has expressed a desire to get to Carlton.

Essendon might want to redraft him to spite us but it would would make their rebuild and their culture like disastrous, try and sell that to the members!

Hopefully, the tail isn't wagging the dog again at the club, maybe the players need to be given some direction.

I’m excited by the stocker update. It is never healthy to have a whole group of yes men. We are meant to think and challenge what we are told. The key is to know when to challenge and when to play your role. If stocker can work that out he will be fine and maybe even gain some respect from his peers.
I think the role of a rookie is to nose down earn the respect of you’re teammates absorb as much as you can from the senior guys
His role as all teammates is to encourage support and lift moral I don’t see what or who he can challenge
The only person he should be challenging is himself to get super fit and then strut on the field in the 22
If he has the character I could see him in our premiership team there will always be a spot for his talents in our team if he has the fitness.
I enjoy watching him play but it will take some Steel and drive and patience to get past a few
