It's a big step up from the NAB to the AFL, it possibly not so much 'hunger' in this case but a form of culture shock. In other words, maybe the recruiting team simply got it wrong or at least there are just too many players of his kind ahead of him restricting his development. Their were always serious questions regarding his 'tank'.

There's no better way to bond with your team mates than putting your body on the line and basking in the victory in the rooms afterwards. He's played 4-5 senior games under Bolton and we were belted in most of them.. not good for individual or team morale.

I know, right? We seem to care more about getting Liam Stocker into the side and having him outperform everyone so we can win the trade than just letting it play out naturally. All this pressure is ridiculous and I played a part in that too. When the draft happened, we wanted him to win the rising star award so we can “give it to Crows supporters”. Two years later and he has played 6 senior games and he’s a bust because he has only played 6 senior games?

That has a lot to do with leaving the hub for personal reasons. If football was played in Victoria this year, Liam would have played all year at VFL and AFL level. I am sure players go through personal issues in their lives all the time and when you're returning to your home of Victoria to deal with those issues, it’s a bit difficult to also play football on top of that when there isn’t any football going on in your state.

And anyway who says Liam has a contract that expires in 12 months. He signed an extension until 2022 last year.

Saw this 10 year old kid on the weekend at a local park in the north. Could launch it a mile but that's it.
