As per the Bluemour File OP, this is a thread for discussing Carlton related rumours.
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/bluemour-file.1085141/

Rumour posters should post their rumours in both threads for those that like just to read rumours and for those that like to have get lost in their rumour files.

LOL. JSOS has been here 5 seasons, Cuningham has been here 5 seasons, Dow has been here 3 seasons. Its hardly what Id call writing someone off " straight away "

JSOS AND Cunners have both shown a bit.

JSOS in particular was unlucky this year to have McGovern picked ahead of him as Jack offers more than the latter, and Cunners had a 28 disposal/ 8 mark/ 6 I50's BOG this year vs the Bombers.

Both need to cement themselves in the best 22 next year though.

As for Dow, he's 3 seasons in. Most players (even ones like Ablett, Danger etc) dont show much more than glimpses in their first 3-4 years at a club. He has his issues (he gets lost in transitional play, and cant get himself involved unless he's at the stoppage, and his disposal needs some work) but he also has some pretty good strengths (he's evasive and has a good first step through traffic, his hands are clean and he has some pace). He was certainly showing something in the reserves this year.

We write the young ones off way too soon around here.

I'm a Polson & Plowman fan.

Think I got you as far as unpopular opinions go :)
Casboult and Plowman, both for multiple seasons. Feels like pushing shift uphill sometimes

I dont think too highly of Dow or LOB either to be honest. And I'm not sure what information would change that. I think they're closer to being "mistakes" than they are to being game changers.
Don't understand the angst with these two, yes they both have major flaws that need to be addressed,
aggression, hunger, fitness, disposal (Dow) & belief...
Give them some time, leave them with the development coach we have depth now..

They have only been on the list for 3 years FFS, one of those years being COVID effected and in a hub...
Dow had no preseason and injuries, not sure about LOB..

2017 was an average draft with very few standouts, Cerra, Clarke & Coffield are the only ones you could argue that
could have been picked up instead of Dow.

In saying that I would have no hesitation trading them for an upgrade or Oliver, same with a lot of the other players on our list..

Highest pick the Bombers have 🤣🤦‍♂️ so pick 6 for Webster, oh my.....

We are talking Jimmy Webster, right? :drunk:

We are talking Jimmy Webster, right?
Yes that's who they were talking about haha

Really can't see how Dunstan would get a game in our best 22, even top 25.

Can only play one role - mid, mostly inside.

Ahead of him - Crippa, Ed, Williams, Walsh, Setters, Gibbons, Cuners, Dow, SPS and Fish.

Then there's Kennedy, JSOS, Philp, Kemp, Stocker.

Simply don't buy it.

It's an A grader or nothing (this year).

And I don't even advocate Menegola given it would limit our options next year.

Oliver, Wines, Kelly, arguably Treloar (at a heavily discounted price)....

Oh, the Bont and Sidebottom too nest year. And Lachie Hunter (would love to get him, not super exxy, accumulator that we lack, sublime ball user, bit of a steadying influence - on field anyway! :grinv1:)
