Just takes time for these options too present themselves, really glad to hear this is hopefully the direction we’re heading down, time for us will be hugely beneficial in getting in the right and fair trade value instead of being reemed and overpaying too that fool... We have held the cards all along, splitting the pick or pick swaps enables us more options, the bloke is just impossible to deal with on a common sense level...

On the other hand, Saad is a player (at least i think) we need to replace Simmo's meters gained. Is he my ultimate HBF'er ... probably not, but he will be very handy for the next 3-4 years (providing his speed (injuries although he has proven durable thus far) doesn't elude him). Can certainly play through the wing as well.

Look at the Clubs in crisis (my words), Adelaide, LolNorF, Pies (that Treloar thing stinks to high heaven), and of course * .... makes me love my club more!

I thought that the player in question (Saad) in This Case had to have a medical with a club prior to getting picked up in the PSD for that particular club to be able to pick them up? I dont think he has had a medical at any other club bar Carlton from my understanding

Yeah I’m rapped to see us start acting like we are the ones with the whip hand instead of being dictated to by DoDo and the media, hopefully we get something done today and really load up the pressure on DoDo, if not Bris then Adelaide have the first 2 picks in the 2nd Rd which really would almost be better come draft day.

Trade period is just boring till the last few days every year it’s the same.Posturing from clubs,list managers beating their chests and basically nothing happens.Then on the last two days bang everything just gets done.Needs to be shortened to a week they already have had weeks to get ready regardless of whether your in finals or not.Some of these decision are made months ago.

Treloar.

Treloar is ageing and quite injury prone, not to mention his massive contract. Merrett on the other hand is more versatile, will allow more game opportunity for those like Kemp and Stocker to develop, and allows Walsh to play more on-ball. It's a win-win situation for me, we hold off this year and go hard in 2021.

Great replacement for Simmo, his speed and metres gained are in some ways far more damaging I’d also like him off a wing as you mentioned, be good seeing what more he could add there for us along with Williams... His a very good HBF his type is something we’ve been crying out for just think #8 is a little too high for him mid teens would be perfect, can’t wait for next season...

IMO the pick swap won't happen, but the threat of it will be enough to get a second and saad for 8. Looks to me like Austin is putting the pressure on to get better "change" back for 8

As I see it there are 3 basic options available:

1. #8 to * for Saad and something back.
2. Give #8 to another team for 2 late firsts, and trade one to * for Saad.
3. Get Saad thru PSD/ND and zilch for *.

Option 1 favours * and option 3 favours Carlton. I don't see Option 2 as a threat, but more like the fairest option for a player like Saad.
