min our situation, Saad is more valuable than the pick given the context of untried kids this year and our need for a running back.
Personally I think it’s perfectly balanced.

They're just not being professional/ethical and offering Carlton a right of reply.

Essendon have obviously run to them with their version of events and rather than actually get both sides of the story - basically THE most important thing to do in journalism - they've just run Essendon's version of events.

So they're not technically lying, they're just printing lies for Essendon.

Not to defend the media, but we don’t know if carlton was given that option. Clubs don’t officially comment, so a phone call to Austin or Saad management may be the only way. Carlton just haven’t leaked this year, the response may well of been we aren’t discussing it. Which is the right move.

At the end of the day, the media doesn’t really change the clubs position unless it’s weak, so Austin or the club getting into a leaking contest with Essendon serves no purpose & doesn’t change what carlton wants. Might actually serve to frustrate Essendon more

I'm clearly in the minority but I'm fine with this. Pick 12-13 for Saad essentially isn't too bad considering this may get pushed back to 14-16ish. 10 pick upgrade in 4th round is inconsequential Bottom line is we just picked up two A graders in the trade period - best period since Judd in my opinion. Bring on 2021!
