SOS wouldn't have blinked today...

GWS wanted a first for Marchbank.

SOS played chicken for two weeks and ended up giving away Tuohy and a very early second for that precious first rounder to get Marchbank. We ended up losing Tuohy for almost nothing.

Even SOS (who I think was a brilliant wheeler and dealer) blinked when he had to..

Oh really? If you value goal-kicking from your attacking HBF, then Tuohy's 1 every 3 games rates fairly well against Saad's 1 in 10 games. Apart from that, they're pretty damn close.

Nothing to suggest from the statement that Doc won't be right to go round 1, got it early. Robbie Gray had similar last year in the preseason and was good to go round 1.

If it also helps I have had a personal experience and went through the same procedure as Doc and Gray. Had the surgery and one dose of chemo to prevent it reoccurring and Dr said i could play sport again after six weeks. Sam being the professional he is will being playing round 1 that I am very sure. Wish you a speedy recovery Doc!

I hate to dim to the news. But has any ITK said what has actually happened to curnows knee. Cos it’s being reported by some as a fracture and by others as a strengthening of it.

"Charlie’s patella has been complicated by this current stress injury, however whilst he has been able to continue with his rehabilitation program, his specialist orthopaedic surgeon feels that surgery to reinforce the area of bone stress will hasten his return to training and minimise the risk of further injury"

My guess is that the stress injury IS a stress fracture in the patella. You could wait on it to heal, but Charlie has opted for a strengthening procedure to try and fix the problem.

I disagree with the premise that this period is part of the competition. I believe it is purely a transactional opportunity to improve lists. There is no imperial measurement of winners and losers, just subjective analysis of transactions, players, LMs, PMs, players...
The only imperial, bottom line evidence is played out on the ground, not on Zoom or in boardrooms. We got what we needed, done.

Surely as supporters we're robust enough to address the elephant in the room. The real question is whether we could have got what we needed done without replacing SOS; moreover, having done so the way we did. I think it's bloody well more likely than not that we would have.
