Realistically, LOB might allow us to upgrade our future 3rd to Pies' future 2nd. Best case, we could ask for future 2nd and swap 3rds if they're feeling generous.

Take out the goals Touhy gets from running past a set shot from outside 50 - gets the handball receive because he's got a long kick.
Why? Do they not count for some reason? He has the capacity to kick goals that his teammates can't, therefore his kicking skills create goals that the team would otherwise not score. In what way are they any less relevant?

Really don’t understand the need to trade O’Brien. We just bring in an even more speculative player with many unknowns with the draft pick.

Would you do it if it gets us George Hewett?

Absolutely but that seems unlikely

Looking at this trade very closely. Richmond has knocked back a future second several times. It might end up being a future second and a swap of firsts this year if Paul gets his way. He has an amazing ability of getting deals done for his clients. It helps when you manage half the players in the AFL, you don't want to piss him off cause it will come back to bite you soon.

Looks like you're right and Paul got his way. And as mentioned Gubby Allan seems the kind of guy who wants to make waves and bring some names in.

AFL website stating swap of first picks involved...and you'd assume the second rounder is on top of that.

So can somebody confirm or deny for me.....if we don’t need LOB’s potential compensation for another deal, pick swap or player, why sell him for chips ? Wouldn’t we just keep him on the list and persevere for at least another year ?
Plus if the magpies want him to replace Stephenson they must see him as a goal sneak up forward, which we have not tried him as yet ..........we would not get enough back to justify it, plus he is the best kick at the club imo...........just needs to be given regular game time so he hardens up and gets more of the pill. He sure knows how to use the footy when he gets it. We drafted him at pick 10 so we would need a very good pick coming back to us!!! Keep him blues.........

Ummmm...what?

If we can turn LOB into a future second we maybe make a late run at Oliver ?

Future first and future second (Collingwood)

Or leave it to next year and go hard then

That's not enough for Oliver this year.

If we did it, i'd say it's to have that extra asset to trade next year for a big name.

I rate Macreadie and don't really see it with LoB (although I do see a path for him to be a fantastic player and really hope he proves me wrong!), I would hope if we trade either of them it's for good value. We have to win the trade on paper for it to be worthwhile.

For the same reason I wish goalkicking stats had a "Joe The Goose" goals stat so we could more accurately asses players like Josh Jenkins. Its not him getting a turnover and powering down the field to score - its a bit of a cheapie running through a protected area.

Not discounting his leg - its powerful and a great asset to their team

Interest in Macreadie is...perplexing.

Bugger all form for clubs to go off, regularly injured - value would have to be remarkably low. Just seems a waste to offload him for not much and then try and bring in a (probably) less developed KPD as depth. Listen to the offer, for sure, but I doubt there's much on the table to tempt us.

LOB is a different story. High pick, has played some good games, lack of footy last year was out of his control. Value would have to be around the Pick 20 mark for us to bother with it, and even then we'd need to have a good idea what we were getting for that pick.

A lot of talk about LOB in the media at the moment makes me think there's probably something to it. We may knock it back in the end, but presumably there's something tempting on offer from Collingwood.

All the reports from the ITK's are saying he wants to leave but it won't happen since Melbourne are going to ask for the world. A first and second won't be enough.

It’s feasible and fair price if Olive can be dislodged form MFC’s grasp. Would be the icing on the cake for CFC trading 2020. We need to shed quite a few players in the next 2 years.
