I'm a little bit confused about how we finished 12th, traded in Saad and Fogarty only, and have the 17th best hand at the draft.

Sure, other teams lost players so got currency back. Everyone but us seemed to get some bargains.

I just think you have to pay when you are targeted...Phillips doesn't really improve the Hawks, same for Stephenson, and I expect the law of diminishing returns may apply at the WB's, though they are now officially my second team.

Trying to be unbiased, I think both our guys genuinely move the needle.

Higgins appears to be the one we lost out on, but we were never in the race for whatever reason.

-Dogs received Picks 26 and 42 (1124 points) which cancels out what they traded out pick 14 (1161 points)
-The dogs traded a future second but got back 33 (2nd rounder this year): More or less cancels each other out

Treloars salary was a hurdle
Stephenson (obviously) has some issues and baggage - it isnt like Collingwood to throw blokes awy like that
I think Phillips was a good pickup - was that a miss by us...probably not given we added Williams and Saad run
Geelong were going to pay whatever to get Cameron - as a Hawkins replacement

Wines and/or Oliver weren't on ....that was my big hope to land one of them...

I think we had a very good trade period - especially if Cripps and Harry sign on tommorow as indicated by someone ...

I'm happy not to have seen Stocker get snatched - had an awful feeling about him...

I think we can say a B+/A- was a good result.

Doggies will have their issues next year this time...

That is what happens when dealing with * of all teams. Dodoro's aim is to take the buffet and leave the crumbs.

But in the end, we have got what we wanted and are hopefully looking at investing in stronger talent in 10-12 months time.

Not questioning what could have been, but questioning what should have been.

If we'd won a final maybe...but we haven't been in tou hing distance of the top 8 in an age, and we absolutely need to see some ROI into the picks we have poured into Setterfield, SPS, Dow, O'Brien, Cuningham, Stocker, Philp, Kemp and now Williams and Fogarty.

Treloar (for us) is the soft serve machine at Sizzler. Pretty appealing at first sight, but quickly regretted.

Us, Brisbane, Dogs & Saints are the only teams who brought in quality players and got a lot stronger without losing anyone.
Maybe Port with Fantasia and Aliir as well.
Geelong improved with Cameron, Smith & Higgins although they lost a few talented kids in Cockatoo and Fogarty.

Outside of that there's not much of note...most clubs treaded water.

Clubs that clearly got weaker for 2021 include Essendon, Collingwood & GWS.
