I must say, as much as I think Fogarty is a decent player and I'd be happy to have him on the list, it does seem strange that we'd consider giving up Macreadie for him given the abundance of midfielders we have and the relative dearth of tall defenders behind our front liners. We've just ditched Silvagni and Goddard and it's unlikely we'll have pick 8 to pick a top line young key defender. I wonder who they have in mind...

We have Cuningham, Dow, Stocker, Kemp, Philp, SPS, Kennedy, Fisher, Ramsey and Gibbons who would all love midfield time in the 1s and I don't see Fogarty as a major upgrade on them. If we want a small forward I'd prefer someone who has lived and breathed small forward life, who just loves kicking goals and has a history of doing so.

Nobody has said we are considering giving up Macreadie for Fogarty.

Austin might get something decent in return but 8 for Saad and 48 in return means Austin didn't go hard enough. I will cheer if Austin seals a good deal for Saad

What are the trades worth........ Saad? Rendell 14-15, SOS 20, Damo "similar". Pre emptive face saving for "our mate" when correct value is recieved rather than continuing to posture for #8 alone??????
