His first stint reflects more on Brisbane than himself to be honest. He was thrown in the deep end, green, at like ~33 years old. Stupid decision up there with Teague's appointment.

He's had a heap of time to reflect, learn, educate himself and develop his off field skills. He will know where he made mistakes.

Out of all those names, the truth is only Ross was available, but he didn't want to do the process and we didn't want to gift him the job and weren't sure about him.

Teague never lost the players. Teague just couldn't coach nor take feedback and that's precisely the feedback given via the review.

Teague never lost the players? Piffle outside of a handful he absolutely lost the players.

Not happy with Voss if he’s the one we go for (looking like it’s the case).
Doesn’t make sever to get rid of Teague only ti bring in Voss.
Then again, people wanted Ratten back in 2019 and he wasn’t that much better when he was with us than Voss was.

I think Clarko has been promised the Tassie gig - somehow I'm starting to think the Clarkson ship has sailed.
I agree and that is something that will interest him and would not give him levels of stress and anxiety coaching does. At the end of the day there is only so much straw you can put on a camels back looks Clarko is now a no. Club has to move on go with the panels recommendation and then back their selection with all the support and expertise required.

Apparently Nigel Lappin will be one of them

Saw Lappin present at a sportsman lunch - very impressive.

Naturally takes a lot from the Leigh Matthews school of coaching - play no favourites, really recognise the players who do the one-percenters (eg. a tagging role or sacrificial acts), full commitment to team ethos.

Not sure why the Tassie thing keeps getting brought up as a Clarkson option. A standalone Tassie side is probably 5 years away...no chance Clarkson hangs around that long on the off chance there may be a side there.

Has there ever been a coach who previously was a failure as a senior coach, got turfed, was then a long time assistant to a coach who has won nothing who then went onto another club and won a flag as senior coach?

I found a fun stat. In 2015, 12 of the previous 17 NFL superbowl winning coaches were coaching their second team.
