Jarrod Cameron yes please. Unsure of the extent to his injuries and don't know a thing about his commitment/personality, but he would fill a serious need and would make losing Samo a little easier.

Perhaps we could entice him across with Betts in a part-time/development role? Can play football.

We won’t be using our last pick in the 60s . I’d like to hold off on SPS trade to west coast as that our only pick outside 6 and 25. And both won’t be handed over for Cerra.
Once we do the deal for 6 and 61 we can ask for 39 for SPS use it with 25 to move back into the top 20. We could even trade out of this draft for next with a Collingwood or dogs who need the points.

If Freo are desperate for something else to make them feel better about parting with Cerra, just flick them pick 25 and get 27 back

They get to feel/look like they got something else out of us and we get our man

I really really felt for SPS, as apparently he had a fair struggle whilst up in the hub in 2020, being isolated and all. I can totally understand his personal decision to get back to WA, with all the border closures restricting movements between states due to covid, and don’t begrudge him whatsoever for seeking a trade.
He gave us 94 games of service and although posters viewed him as “lazy” and “conditional”, I believe it’s just due to his laconic nature.

Unfortunately sublime skill and talent will only get you so far in an elite sport as a lot of it is above the shoulders, and I just don’t think Samo’s head has been right since the beginning of 2020.

That match where he picked Crippa’s pocket against the Dogs was what a player of his calibre can produce when confident, but confidence is a fickle mistress, and you only have to be off your game 5-10% in an elite sports environment to fall behind the pack.

We don’t know what kind of struggles SPS is dealing with internally, but I hope the change of scenery is good for the young fella and he realises his full potential at another club.

Just so long as he stinks it up when he plays us, I’m fine with it, totally fine.

Straight swap for Brander seems the most logical trade scenario IMO. Both are underperforming former first rounders, and both fill a need.

Anyone expecting more for SPS is in lala land.

Objectively, SPS has proven a helluva lot more than Brander and played some 70-odd more games. While I agree that if push comes to shove, a simple swap would be easily done, I think we'd be crazy and derelict in our duty and almost disrespectful to SPS if we didn't try for a pick swap in our favour.

SPS, 61 for Brander and 29/36 is the deal I'd be looking at. But I won't lose any sleep if the net result is a straight swap - assuming we value Brander and he wants to play for us.

EDIT: I'd definitely get Eddie on the phone (if he's still hanging around) to young Cameron. Wouldn't mind him at the club - we still yearn for a genuine small forward with natural talent (not a small mid or mid/forward). Durdin the closest and Owies behind him but neither are a pure Eddie Betts/Cameron (Bris variety) type.

I think he's firmly in the oversized man child who plays with the toughness of Gorringe basket but we'll see if Carlton gets him or not

that down grade is worth 50 points and a lot more in terms of Draft position. I'd rather give up 61 even though in points it's worth more

Let's see whether we emerge as a party of interest for Cameron. We won't have much draft capital once Cerra becomes a Blue (or what will be tied up in negotiations) so I'm not quite sure.

Can't really comment on Jarrod's value but as a 12-gamer who has publicly declared that he's leaving the club either way, I can't see that being very high.

Maybe its a case of SPS and 61 for both of them? All depends on our interest. With Cerra, Hewett already coming in - Austin and co. would be working hard to get another 2 players through the door.
