Not really a board game but Celebrity head is good fun

Monopoly is banned from our house after Christmas day last year when we got into a big fight :)

Not really the type of game for the FAMILY but a couple of bottles of wine and the big brother uncut game go down a treat amongst friends.

rapi dough, its great, its pictionary but instead of drawing the things you have to make them out of play dough, fun all round, violent too..lol

AFL Trivia Game from about 1997.

Still undefeated (with one draw).

You know I'm going to reply to this, Lenny. But I have to say I'm glad you admit our epic draw! (It was one of the greatest draws in the history of board games.)

My family gave up on Trivial Pursuit because no one likes getting their arse kicked by some smart arse little terd, i.e. me. Monopoly is timeless. Poleconomy is the extended remix version, and great fun unless, once again, big sisters don't crack the irits and throw the board across the room when they're getting caned.

My husband and I were given Trivial Pursuit for our wedding 4 weeks ago. The first 3 days after it rained so we got it out.

After 2 games (the second of which took 30 minutes maximum) I think he wishes we never got it.

I came, I saw, I kicked its A$$!!

Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit are fine, 500 isn't really a board game but is is a great holiday pastime (except when my cousin "Mr Misere" is playing).

However my favourite boardgames would have to be the Columbia block games (esp EastFront) and Totaler Krieg.

someone gave us monopoly for a pressie a few weeks ago, well its the DOG version, dogopoly. we've been playing it but i think i prefer the normal version cos the community chest and that have harsher penalties!!

i love pictionary!! tho we dont actualy have one so i never get to play!

chess and scrabble are also good.

I have, however, never been defeated at Absolute Balderdash (in probably 30-odd games), I'm wondering if that means I'm a pathological liar deep down...

What does that game involve?

Some of my favourites

- I just got Cranium for Christmas and it is the best game I have ever played...it suits me because it encompasses so many elements that I like.
- Balderdash is a good, funny game
- Scattegories is a great game, however I can't play it with one of my brothers in particular because he can't seem to understand that "Rainbow" isn't a colour
- 500 is a classic, not my favourite but I will play it
- Oh Dear is a family favourite card game, that one along with 500 we can play well into the early hours of the morning

Ha I reckon every 500 school has one of those - my brother in law in my case. As long as he h=gets the kitty he's happy.

A card is drawn, either an obscure word, name, date, film title or acronym is given. You're not expected to know the real answer, everyone must come up with a definition, what they were famous for, what happened that day, brief synopsis or what the acro stands for. They're all handed in and read out, you vote for the one you think is right - the idea being to get people to vote for your answer, and for you to vote for the right one.

Yep got it home... not a bad game to play except for those little plastic sheep are so freakin fiddley and having to always refer to the stock price and salary charts.
