Yes. These guys work 5 days in a week for 10 months a year. Going on a trip after their footy season is done.
Players don't really need to analyse what the finals teams do. That's the job for the coaches and analysts at the club.
The fact that 2/3 of the list are there is actually a promising sign rather than a negative sign
They've just endured a shocking season. It's better for them to be relaxing and taking a load off than anything else.Fair points, I was more thinking in terms of prompting motivation for next year. For example, didn’t sheedy make the 1999 prelim team go and watch the 1999 grand final?
That’s more what I was thinking. But perhaps I am a dinosaur.
Is Kane correct that no other club does this? If an extremely unsuccessful club does something completely unique in the off season it would make me question if it was a symptom. The fact that 2/3 of the list are there is actually a promising sign rather than a negative sign

Most players once their season is done leave on a trip. The fact we're doing it all together pretty much means nothing apart from the guys doing it together. Is Kane correct that no other club does this? Fair enough. I hope you’re right. Most players once their season is done leave on a trip. The fact we're doing it all together pretty much means nothing apart from the guys doing it together.
Worth a try.Never had it.
No current season stats available
Difference being, we should have been playing that day in 99. It was the right tactic then and would have no issue with it happening again in similar circumstances.Fair points, I was more thinking in terms of prompting motivation for next year. I don’t think they were told to. It’s not a club directive, it’s just what they chose to do with their time off.Fair enough. I hope you’re right.
To me though, it seems odd odd that a team whose commitment was questioned during the year is now being told to go on a trip to Spain rather than staying to watch the opposition battle it out in september.
But as I said, I am probably a dinosaur in their regard.
You’re right, bad choice of words. Deciding to go on the trip would be more accurate.I don’t think they were told to. It’s not a club directive, it’s just what they chose to do with their time off.
If Cornes didn’t play devils advocate his kids would go hungry. You’re right, bad choice of words. Deciding to go on the trip would be more accurate.
People raise some good points here but I guess I think it’s important for supporters and members to see at least an iota of commitment to winning after the horror season we’ve all just witnessed. I thought it was a legitimate criticism by cornes that was pretty much dismissed as negativity.
Cornes likes getting upset at trivial things so Fox can run a headline "AFL great says blah blah blah"You’re right, bad choice of words. Deciding to go on the trip would be more accurate.

Is that you Dad?Coopers Stout is life.
Coopers are a bit of a funny one. They're trying to push into new territory to take market share from other breweries who are doing new-world style beers (hop forward, more aromatic craft beers like XPAs/IPAs/some Pale varieties/Pacific Ales etc) but their production setup doesn't facilitate those kinds of beers, so they're kind of trying to shoehorn the production methods they know (for slower fermented, bottle conditioned, 'traditional' beers) into these more modern styles and the result isn't great.
They also have their house yeast strain which is basically their signature and a huge part of the 'Coopers-ness' of all of their beers, which they're persisting with using on modern beer styles (which generally should have minimal yeast character) even though it doesn't lend itself to those kinds of beers at all
If I’m at a bar and it’s packed and not sure what’s on tap (perhaps I’m just awkward in these situations) I’ll go Carlton Draught. Or if I’m going to a family gathering (on the in-laws side) I’ll bring a slab of Carlton Draught to share. It’s not a bad drop.I must be boring, just drink Carlton Draught on tap wherever I go and the same in tins at home.
It’s not actually bad at all. Stouts aren’t my thing but can handle Coopers. If I’m going for a meal in a beer it’ll be Kilkenny.Coopers Stout is life.
wasn't Coopers the ones that ran a particularly tone-deaf ad during the SSM plebiscite, and nearly ended the company overnight. So they are ******* idiots?
Yep and that answers my question. ****ing idiotswasn't Coopers the ones that ran a particularly tone-deaf ad during the SSM plebiscite, and nearly ended the company overnight.
