Suspect it's the last attempt for relevance before Sheedy gets the ass. The sooner he's gone the better IMO.
from the outside getting rid of anyone affiliated with sheedy and the good old days looks to be the only way forward, even if it brings a bit of pain in the short term.

as much as i can't stand essendon i know some good eggs who support the dons so i hope i hope it happens too.

Hi all, sorry for the intrusion, apart from the 10 year anniversary stuff is there a reason Sheedy and the herald sun crew are going so hard against Essendon right now? Surely they'd be better hold some of this info for when they (sheedy, hird etc) want something from the club?

seems like an odd time to go for it, preseason so all the fans are up and about, no agm, coaches on new contracts etc.
  • 10 year anniversary
  • anything Essendon related with a mention of the 'Saga' is bound to get clicks anyway.
  • Cricket season is over, Pre season matches are still weeks away and the footy news cycle needs some juice (I wouldn't be surprised if the HUN had all this Sheedy/Hird info last year and was just waiting for a slow news cycle to bring it up)
Perfect storm

I think Sheedy (and to a lesser extent Dodoro) are the only ones left.

It's clickbait, nothing else. That's how media organisations work.

The entire saga was their wet dream. They'll use it again and again, this won't be the last time.

Robbo taking another opportunity to kick Essendon as we try to move on from it all.

Just so I've got this straight....

HIRD was thinking about challenging for the board and presidency!?

Barham also wanted the presidency, but needed Sheedy to have the numbers

To head Hird off, Barham told him to apply for the coaching job instead and assured both he and Sheedy he'd get the job

Barham therefore got the presidency... and never considers Hird for the job?

This is amazing stuff

But not totally surprising.

If our list played with this attitude we'd be... unsociable

In fairness to Barham, he probably just stuffed it all up but got the result everyone wanted, like everything else he seems to have his hand in.
Seems like the opposite of Essendon over the last 20 years, where we [eventually] did everything the way everyone else wanted and got the results no one wanted.

Barham put on a blindfold and threw a handful of darts. He hit a few people in the head and got a couple of bullseyes. Here's hoping he stays in the background from now on and everything works out going forward.

To his credit, he seems willing to make the call when the decision is wrong and change tact, instead of doubling down like we've done in the past.

I dunno where to put this exactly but since I've never seen it before until this new administration took over I'll put it here:

International Women's Day event. Dave Barham there introducing the thing, new CEO in the front row.

Entire AFL & AFLW teams were there, can see the boys in their training gear and the girls look like they just came from their off-season jobs for the occasion.

Also a whole bunch of other staff that you may or may not recognise.

Brad Scott on the panel along with Georgia Nanscawen, Sarah Jones and Nayana Bhandari. Not sure if Sarah Jones is a panel member or an MC.

I mean there's "five teams, one club" as a motto and then there's actually let's put some actual time, effort and money into organising a giant function and inviting literally everybody to be there.

"All participants brought a photo of the special women in their lives which helped display the importance of female role models". Well that just serves to reinforce my point.
