Player Watch Bobby “Norm” Hill

Easy for small forwards to go missing when the mediums and talls were clunking everything. Simply wasn't enough to go around.

Against a better defence in Port's, we'll be reliant on Hill's pace and awareness. He'll bounce right back.

I'll eat pubes if he doesn't.
I’m torn between wanting Bobby to tear it up or have another quiet one now. 🤔

It appears to me that young Bobby is very much a confidence player and suffers a little from low self esteem issues (my perception only). I imagine that once he feels like he truly belongs at this level, and in this club, he will shine much more brightly. I see glimpses of this occuring already and I am sure that he will evolve into a great small forward.

Bobby offers something we haven’t had in a long time. The coaches will be doing all they can to nurture that. Fly’s player management skills appear - from the outside - to be outstanding. With that support, I’m confident Bobby will succeed.

I’d still like to see Ginni back in, not as a replacement for Hill - which he’s not - but as a complement. Again, his ongoing development is in the right hands.

Then we have Beau who is different again and another complement to these two.

We have a dynamic group of small to medium forwards, led by the father of them all - the one and only Jamie Elliott.

Surely that’s a premiership group right there?

Bobby was great last night - his skills and speed were something to behold, especially given the slippery conditions.
He cost us a second rounder, but he's effectively like a high top 10 pick.
He's only going to get better as his confidence builds.
