All things being equal, I would think so. Now I am going to keep a close with on Edward Allen. It really is about time - having had a small sample of AFL experience recently - that he produces a STANDOUT game. I will also be very interested in how the 3 guys in the final line of the backline perform but for different reasons. These are Harry DeMattia, Josh Eyre & Jakob Ryan, respectively. I think De Mattia needs to combine his speed & kicking skills with more football nous & awareness vis-a-vis his Under 18 performances with more & more repeat endeavours. As for Eyre, I just want him to get through a match unscathed & simultaneously show some key defender nous & his very good kicking skills as we saw continuously during the pre-season period. Finally, I want to see Jakob Ryan really take the game on & in doing that provides a lot of concrete support to his fellow backs. Finally, I hope that he can reveal a real & far more aggressive side to his football & go in where angels fear to trade & really get involved in the physical side of the game. Be brave! Now he had nearly, if not, 2 complete pre-seasons under his belt & played quite a number of VFL games for this club. So he also needs to make a statement game sooner rather than later. Like Allen, it is his time to make a statement that I deserve to be on this list. OK. Goodnight & good luck & hopefully I can be pleasantly surprised. Go Pies!
Hard for any decent player to shine when you are playing in a very average side.

Eyre has competed well today up forward. 2 goals now. One of our best
Saw the first qtr.
think he comfortably dropped 7 or 8 marks. Probably more.

I know it’s slippery….but surely he gets lucky and takes at least 1 of them?!?
So many were uncontested as well.

It was the knock on him at the dons….and he dropped everything the other week as well….so but concerned about that.

Looked like a competitive backman asked to play fwd to me.

Disclaimer: only saw the first qtr.

Eyre looks good up forward. How are you coping with this positional move Jen2310 ?

He’s done well. But still it’s not his natural position but at worst we can know he can be used at both ends

He dropped a few in the conditions hard to be to critical. He’s getting to the right spots in the flip side. Compared to the last two weeks he was up forward this week is night and day. Good just having another developing tall tbh
