Don’t begrudge Bobby in aiming to do better with his contract. We got him cheaply and within 12 months he starred in a Grand Final, won a premiership medal and the Norm Smith.

While his 2024 season didn’t quite reach those heights, the guy is a ripper player. We did extremely well out of that deal.

It goes both ways.

To be honest, his 2023 season didn't reach those heights either outside of the GF (resulting obviously in the Normie). Take the grand final out of 2023 so the games played are the same, and therefore 2024 he had more goals, disposals, contested possessions, uncontested possessions, marks, contested marks, scoring shots, goal assists, 1%ers...

We all say that Bobby had a 'down year', buy maybe he had his average year and one excellent game..?

On that basis, his 'average' isn't too bad, for mine. And, a player that steps up on the big stage is worth far more.

Surely negotiations would have included a pay rise for 25 & 26?
He’s reportedly on average wage.

Yeah but if he has a good year he still gets a payrise for 26 and a bigger payrise for the subequent years than if he takes whatever we are offering now.

The tweet said 'contracted until 2026'. Does that mean uncontracted in 2026, or contracted until the end of 2026? It could be interpreted both ways.

If he is contracted already for 2025 and 2026, then of course he is going to put off contract extension talks.
