Congrats to all the premiers of all the sides in both comps for this season. But know the best part of the year begins (The Silly Season). Rumours about at the moment is Yack arent interesting in going up to Div 1, if that happens will Purtell will go back to my old club (New City). Whats the story about Wodonga trying take over the Warriors? I didn't think things were that bad there. How many Wodonga based Dederang players will leave now their year ended in choking fashion? Can Lavi, Raiders and the Patties pick up a few players to contend next year? Will Baranduda or Mt Beauty (International 11) be the contenders for next year?

well johnny the warriors have no nets as the catholic college have knocked them down.the council have been jerking the club around for long enough and keep promising new ones alll over the place but time is up.Wodonga are looking at fielding teams in every grade so that players get the chance to play at all levels.Mt Beauty will be strong in district with only one import.Yack will go up but with alot of players saying no way.The word is a new club in district new season by the name of allans flat cc!!!!!! Alot of clubs will be working hard to get players.It will be real silly off season.With the rumor of north albury players going to howlong it should boost howlong alot.

well the grapevine seems to be growing alot so far.WWW merge with Wodonga will take time but it sure will raise many questions.WWW have a small but strong player base.Wodonga are getting bigger every year but are lacking those guys between 25 and 35 to help the juniors.Not sure how commitee will be set up or even what grades there will be. Best of luck to both clubs and I hope that everything is fairly done.All I can say is that cricket will be the winner in Wodonga

Saw an add on pay TV the other night for Canadian Club, featuring the Nelson boys. Champagne comedy. Good luck to them. Who said playing raiders thirds was a career killer.

Yackandandah have once again knocked back promotion!!!
What a joke,and from what I hear Baranduda dont want to go up either.
Surely the league has got enough balls to say to yack 2 flags in 2 years up you go boys,if not the are weaker than I first thought

if thats true thats week as piss....they should have to give valid reasons why they can't go up???? so does that mean mt beauty stay up if no one goes up???? are they scared of losing or just want to be the big fish

I also believe from next season that the promotion is for 2 years.

A side based in Thurgoona, a merged West Wodonga/Wodonga team and/or Jindera are possibilities i have heard.

Have heard that PCYC are putting a club together with Ron Montgomery 2 be in charge of thier commitee and headhunting of players.

Also have heard the Beechworth one but the league has been at them and Myrtleford since before the merger.

West Wodonga look like they are going to fold/or be taken over by Wodonga, New City folded almost 10 years ago and a new club was formed this year playing under their banner yet they only fielded 2 teams. Where will the players come from? Can they get the necessary finances to get a club up? Where will they play? Will the other clubs let them into the comp when they risk losing some of their talented juniors to this club (eg. Bradsworth from Raiders to New City) as well as senior players? If the board agree to this are they taking the existing club's long term viability into account? Will it weaken the already diminishing standard of cricket in the area? I don't see any reason for all these new clubs to be admitted particularly in Albury

A reliable source told me that the council really only ever had plans for three clubs in town because those clubs already had established facilities and the cost to the council was too great if the warriors facilities had to be comparable. Whether true or not, they were on a hiding to nothing if the council weren't prepared to give any support. I couldn't see a club like Wodonga fall over now could we

Andy Norling 2 coach Kiewa next season is the latest rumour going around.
Also heard no imports for Mt.Beauty,have finally decided 2 put some faith in the clubs younger brigade.

Norlo has coached yack 4 a couple of years so no its not 4 in 4yrs for him.
Havent heard of any signings at any clubs .
Most would be waiting 2 cee who goes up,if anyone goes up that is.

Heard from a reliable source that the CAW board are not going to be dictated to by one club. Yack have the option to go up to Provincial or join another league, such as Wangaratta. Good on the board for making this decision. It would of made a mockery of the promotion/relegation system put in place and set a precedent to other clubs not wanting to go up.

If this is fact all i can say is FINALLY the board have grown some balls.
Also on the PCYC thing do clubs get a vote on them joinong our association.
If Yack dont bit the bullet and go up does anyone go up or do we have 2 divisions with 9 clubs in each with a bye every week?
