Completed the Captain Scarlett DLC tonight.

Was excellent, I actually enjoyed the missions, Story and setting more than the original game. But that is partially because I was all over the shop for the main story (jumping in with mates further a head then jumping back, then skipping missions already beaten, etc.

But the missions are great, the landscape was more fun for me and Captain Scarlett was marginally more entertaining than Captain Jack (who was great).

I won't spoil anything but there does seem to be a challenge along the lines of the Terramorphius as well. But I'm only level 41 so no where near strong enough for that yet.

Any benders still playing?

I am and so is HBK I think.

What console?

Also this really isn't a game you can rush through, you want to be at the ideal level where the exp you are getting is worth while but you aren't sending yourself on a suicide mission.

two challenges. the first was fairly easier (but looong) as a law/order melee zer0 but the second is terrible. took me more than an hour to kill it and the game froze as the loot was flying through the air  cant even be bothered to try again.

i can now do 2000k crits with the 200% melee damage rifle though, which is pretty cool.

Since I had 4 Golden Keys I got impatient and decided to use one at level 44. Not overly impressed with what I got with the first one.

Hyio Callipeen
Sniper Rifle
Damage - 10669
Accuracy - 95.9
Fire Rate - 3.3
Reload Speed - 5.8
Magazine Size - 10

Wild Lance
Assault Rifle
Damage - 6030
Accuracy - 78.5
Fire Rate - 3.8
Reload Speed - 4.1
Magazine Size - 19

Will road test, I think the Assault Rifle will do me well, but I hate using sniper rifle's (or any weapon in fact) which doesn't have some kind of elemental power to it.

That sniper is crap, I'm only level 36 and I have one that does 18,000 damage

Might get this after exams, so not for another 4-5 weeks. Was reading through the thread a bit, is it shit to play solo, do you need to play with a mate from the start to enjoy it? Didn't play the original Borderlands, either.
I will probably be getting it around the same time, so if you want a partner about the same level hit me up.

Finally got back into this after a few day layoff of full on FIFA.

Up to level 45 now which means another skeleton/golden key used.:D (since I'm still a fair way from the finish of my 2nd playthrough I wanted some firepower for it)

This is what I got:

Wild Rifle
Damage - 7223
Accuracy - 89
Fire Rate - 15.7
Reload Speed - 3.8
Magazine Size -13
*Fires as fast as you can pull the trigger

Suppressive Scout
Damage - 10021
Accuracy - 94.9
Fire Rate - 9.9
Reload Speed - 4.0
Magazine Size - 11
*Burst fire while zoomed.

Very happy with the sniper as it does 7000 more damage than my best sniper. It's not elemental (pretty sure no weapons from the skeleton/golden chest are), but at that damage rate, it's not going to matter.

HBK619 that sniper seems pretty similar to mine.

I haven't jumped on since I activated the key so I have no idea if it'll do me any good.

Most of my sniper's are around the 2,500-4,500 mark with elementals so I need to see if the sheer number of damage will counteract the lack of elemental

I love my elementals, but with that extra damage I can't see it being worse to use, maybe only on the robots which really do need corrosive. Headshot/Critical hits could be 1-2 shot kills on most enemies.

The fire rate is what really has me dripping, 9.9 is ridiculous for a sniper.

I have one sniper right now with a nice high fire rate and a 19 clip, it's basically an auto sniper (my corrosive sniper). Epic to use. If this is anything similar then I will love it too.

If you are playing TVHM then corrosion weapons can mean **** all, infact elemental weapons are pointless sometimes because so many enemies are resistant to everything including bullets it seems.

I am level 46 and in my second playthrough now but the game has stopped being enjoyable. It does not matter how much health you have or how big your shield is because one hit and it is completely wiped off. An endless stream of Badass Loaders when I am just trying to get to my next objective is ****ing annoying.

Not really. I find that once you enter TVHM that you HAVE to use elemental weapons more than in the normal mode where non-elemental weapons worked fine.

Corrosion is for robots (aim for the limbs and you will take them down even faster, or at least immobilise them enough for them not to be a factor) and the armoured bandits. Shock is for shielded enemies, takes down shields almost instantly. Fire is for non-shielded enemies. Slag...is shit. You really have to specifically use those weapons for individual enemies otherwise you won't be doing much.

Yeah it's tough as hell sometimes especially with more badass enemies and the upgraded enemies as well in general (Threshers are a massive pain in the arse, especially the wormhole one's that take forever to take down with regular weapons). But I like the challenge.

And thankfully as Axton I always have my turret to keep my alive in dire situations, only 2 levels away until I unlock the nuke for it.:D

Yes I would be stuffed without the turret. It is a bit annoying at times as you have to land it on perfectly flat terrain. I have the nuke, good for just wiping out enemies who swarm you, also have some missiles as well but a lot of the robots are resistant to that too. Explosive-resistant I'm guessing?

I am encountering robots resistant to corrosion believe it or not. Also there are plenty of armoured guys who are resistant to corrosion. Slag I was using at the start but now I don't really have the time to slag and then burn/corrode.

I was liking the challenge but now not so much, I am actually so stuck at this Badass Constructor v2.0 that the enemies at the checkpoint have now respawned. I think I might just ditch that and go do side quests to get to level 50 then throw the game over the fence.

Wormhole Threshers are the only enemy I think sides on the cheap side. If I see one I don't hesitate to throw out my turret.

My 4 weapon loadout generally consists on one shock weapon (either a pistol or sniper) & a fire SMG/Assault Rifle. From there I mix with where I am, if I'm around mostly red bar enemies I load up on fire snipers & shotguns. If I'm against robots I swap those for Corrosive Assault Rifles & Sniper.

Slag is new. What does that do?

I take it that the classes are pretty similar to the first game, just different names?

Slag makes the enemy weaker to different types. If you get a say a slag pistol, you fire a few shots at the enemy and it turns purple indicating it's 'slagged'. From there swap to an elemental weapon to do much bigger damage.

I could always jump on and help you out if you wanted? Definitely makes things a bit easier when you get someone else to take the attention away from the rockets. And 2 turrets out at once = JIZZZZZZ!:D

Slag increases the damage done to enemies when they are slagged. IMO it's absolutely useless as you have to slag them THEN hit them with bullets. It's not like shock, fire or corrosion where the effect will continue to wear them down after they've been shot. It's just an increase in damage.

The classes are much the same, the difference is that there's no real weapon proficiencies this time around (in Borderlands it was far more weapon based - you had the 'Assault' guy, the 'Sniper', The 'Melee', etc.). I personally rate either Axton or Zer0 as the best classes (at least Zer0 from the outside). I don't like the idea of the dual wield with the Gunzerker and according to those who have used it here it can have it's faults. The Siren seems to be a bit too focused on the co-op helping others side of things instead of powering yourself up to be an epic beast.

Which leaves Axton and his incredibly powerful turret (once you equip missiles it's ridiculously powerful) or Zer0 with his ability to go invisible and set up a decoy and then do extra damage from the melee (which can be handy). I just personally don't like the idea of meleeing a lot as in crowded situations you could find yourself dead fast.

So I chose Axton.

I have my skill tree set so I have two turrets with rockets myself :D

Depending on what the Nuke feels like I may re-spec that way too.

I have already had to re-spec after finding out that the shield for the Turret is absolutely worthless. That was where I focused on going after the Nuke, because it's a fricken nuke!!

In other news (apparently this was outed about a week ago), the next piece of DLC has seemingly been shown off through the trophy list on PS3 again. 'Mr.Torgue's Campaign of Carnage'. Torgue being one of the weapon manufacturers in the game.

The 3 trophies are:
"Explosive - Bronze
Completed the mission 'Long Way To The Top'"

"Motorhead - Silver
Completed all Campaign of Carnage side missions"

"Obsessed - Gold
Collected 10 pictures of Moxxi in Campaign of Carnage"

I wonder what the 10 pictures of Moxxi are...the saucy minx!

Shields are fine until you get to higher levels. But having two turrets means you have two targets taking the attention. But now they have rockets they are holding up a lot better than they did a level or so ago.

That trophy stuff is true. My Trophy list for the game is split into 3 sections, one for the main game, on for Captain Scarlett & one for Campaign of Carnage.

I've grabbed the season pass so I'll be expecting that to drop in maybe a month or so's time?

Hope that helped out a bit RoosterLad.

I ****ing love that mission with the Bunker, the way the loot just rains down, OMGGGGGGG!

Picked up a few nice weapons and shields as well.:p I bought a shield from the store that was 10000 capacity more than what I was using too.
