Discussion Both teams wearing clash jumpers

Not the best example (as the AFL forced to make Saints wear it because our fat sash apparently didn't clash enough) but one I know the most.

What were/are your thoughts on it? And should it also happen in the finals series (plus the Grand Final) if appreciable?

Came up in my mind for quite a while seeing football/soccer clubs both wearing alternative kits even in the Final, although it's pretty rarer than it was.

I think a few teams should wear their 2022 clash with home shorts, for example:

• West Coast
• Brisbane (White jersey)
• Adelaide
• GWS
• Collingwood
• Freo
• Hawthorn
• St Kilda

I’d like to see more adaptability.
That’s pretty unlikely to actually happen though, considering how rigid the AFL and certain teams are considering guernseys.

its been done is quite right; the NRL has often featured odd uniform choices, for better or worse.

The earliest instance I know of was way back in Round 18 1975.
Western Suburbs wore their white alternate uniform at home against North Sydney who wore their preseason/warm-weather red jersey.

technically this was our home jumper but i'll always think of it this way. both clubs wearing strips that are the inverse of their traditional ones to meet the AFL's stupidly rigid "dark vs. light" policy.

Seems like a Richmond problem, but cheeky they figured out a way to benefit

In Round 8, 2004 St Kilda played a home game against Collingwood and wore the candy stripe vs the swooping Magpie with home shorts (a little similar to the St Kilda vs Essendon games in both 2009 and 2010).

This was one of the hardest games for me to watch. I couldn't differentiate between the two teams quickly due to the white and yellow looking almost identical to me. By the time I figured it out the camera angle would change and I'd have to start over again.

Note, the Saints Red jumper refers to the hot cross jumper that they used as their home for a period and the eagles royal jumper refers to their current home jumper

they had the black stripes on white strip, but that only makes the clash worse against North.
