it seems gws don't like wearing their current home jumper w/white shorts. they've only ever done it twice (both in 2021), so i doubt they'd want to wear that combo especially being the higher ranked team

When it comes to the grand final, I don't think they would have a choice.

Higher team gets home jumper rights, but AFL then decides shorts on best match up.

if thats the case then how did brisbane end up in white shorts last year when they have no white in their jumper, whereas collingwood's jumper has close to 50% white?
the afl likes to pick and choose, and clearly the vic teams get treated that little bit better than the non-vic teams.

That was only because the 2021 Clash jumpers hadn't come through until they had played Richmond. From what I've seen and heard GWS have set it clear that the Home is for home games only, the clash is orange backed instead of wearing the home with white shorts, and then the NS kit for Derby games. So I'd highly doubt we'd wear anything except Home as it is, or clash as it is (which I think GWS would be fine to wear even if they were the home team)

They used to do that with most finals, but stopped a couple of years ago. There was a lot of inconsistency that led to Geelong wearing navy shorts in a Prelim against Brisbane (who were in Fitzroy + white). That for me marked the end of what was excellent policy.

If it's Port vs Brisbane (no matter who is deemed to be the home team), then I think the best combination would be Port in Home/White and Brisbane in Home/Maroon.

GWS would get away with Home/White vs Port but again I think the better scenario in that game would be Port in Home/White and GWS in Home/Charcoal.

Brisbane have been wearing full home gs Sydney for a while now so doubt it'll be anything other than both in home jumpers and home shorts.

I do wonder - if it's Port vs Geelong, who's deemed the higher seed given we lost the QF?

I also feel like that if it was Carlton vs Hawthorn (obviously it won't be now) then Hawks might get put in the white shorts, mainly for contrast reasons.

If we play Sydney this should be the matchup, but knowing the AFL it will probably be us in home jumper and white shorts.

It wouldn't matter jumper wise - both in Home, Cats in white shorts.

I think Cats would be listed first if that eventuates.

Down to 2 options now after last night, if Brisbane win tonight, I hope they wear full home kit, looks much better than with white shorts IMO. White shorts would clash with Sydney’s white. But this this the AFL we’re talking about.

If Brisbane win, it'd probably will be like the 2003 preliminary final with Sydney's home red and red shorts, with Brisbane wearing their home guernsey with white shorts, or Brisbane just wearing home shorts with a home guernsey.

If the lions get through, red v maroon will look ugly in the afternoon sun.
They’d have to wear the bears kit as they should have worn the Fitzroy kit in last years grand final.

Besides, they’ve already won a few flags in the Brisbane Lions kit, would be nice to see them win one in a Fitzroy or especially a bears jumper.
