From posts above I think fair enough we are middle of the road, I'll be suprised if we are top 4.

Top 4:
Pies
Dees
Dockers
Bombers

Bottom 4:
St Kilda
GWS
Nth Melbourne
Port Adelaide

Port at the bottom is really the only thing I'm certain of, the rest is a bit of a raffle.

Who's your tip in the Cup this afternoon?

Correctly predicting the top and bottom 4 come 2016 is nearly impossible. In 2010, every man and his dog talked up Carlton's and Melbourne's lists as the best thing since sliced bread, few envisaged St Kilda and the Bulldogs tumbling into the bottom 4, and nobody thought us and Sydney would be contending for a flag in 2013. How things change.

FA and the increased frequency of player movements associated with it will cause a number of clubs to have drastically different lists in 2016. It may very well affect up and coming sides such as Richmond, GC, North, and Port. A middle-of-the-road club with an average list (e.g. Carlton or West Coast) could easily use it to their advantage and unexpectedly catapult into flag contention within 2-3 years.

Long story short- the advent of FA will mean predicting the future is harder than ever. Otherwise, some up and coming sides will stagnate, some may go backwards, whilst others will go onto contending for a flag. 1-2 sides may also shoot up the ladder unexpectedly.

With that in mind, here's my stab in the dark:

Top 4:
Carlton (won't be very popular I know)
Port Adelaide
Gold Coast
Adelaide

Bottom 4-
Hawthorn (won't be popular either, but have an aging list are due to fall down the ladder soon)
GWS
Brisbane
St Kilda

So I can marvel at my incorrect predictions in a few years: 2016 ladder. Basically just throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks, but I think those in the top 8 are either on the up with their young talent, or are the type of team that will 'buy' premium talent to stay up there.

1. Richmond
2. Port
3. Gold Coast
4. Collingwood
5. Sydney
6. GWS
7. Western Bulldogs
8. Fremantle
9. Geelong
10. North Melbourne
11. West Coast
12. Hawthorn
13. Melbourne
14. Brisbane
15. St. Kilda
16. Essendon
17. Adelaide
18. Carlton

Explain? if you can

Yes a midfield with Danger and Sloane in their prime will finish 17th...... righteo

Danger could leave, Sloane could get a career-ending injury. Anything could happen. And before you say Danger won't leave, we thought Ward would never leave, he was a Dog through and through, and left.

Yeah I was about to say he won't leave. But 17th?????

It's a completely wild prediction, wouldn't bother getting defensive about it.
Everyone is optimistic for the future, look at 2013. Nobody would've had the Crows outside the 8.

St. Kilda 3 years ago. Anyone predict that in 3 years they would be 17th? Sydney 2009, anyone predict that they would be premiers? Melbourne 3 years ago. Anyone think that they would STILL be bottom 4? It's hard to predict who's going to be where on the ladder a year before, to predict three years away is almost impossible.
