Would be interested only if we could get him for practically nothing, he isn't that good.

You don't know how it works? He's amazing all of a sudden now he wants to come home. :drunk:

OT: He isn't what we need. We have at least 3 important roles that need re-stocking in our team before we get another outside runner. Unless we give jack shit for him he's not coming home next year. A season of mediocre playing, off-field problems and Hawks doing well by him should hopefully drive his price down to jack shit anyways.

His running isn't the main reason.
His kicking to a leading forward is the main benefit

Don't know about you guys but after watching the skill set of Sheridan,Sutcliffe, Suban, and D.Pearce it only in forces my reasoning for getting Brad Hill
And lol at he's soft and only good at the Hawks, watch his grand final perfomances big reason why they've won three in a row.

Wow once again we are dealing with a player that is under contract for next year.

This generally requires paying overs which I don't think Freo in a rebuild can offer. Still it is good to hear mature comments from both sides on this possible trade, at this stage.

If and only if Freo is able to trade or receive compensation for some players will this trade progress. I would think a trade remains unlikely as our priority is Mc Carthy and hopefully a mature ruckman.

IMO Hill is around the equivilant of pick 20 - 30. Also would not be surprised if Hawthorn is interested in Mayne who would be a very handy player in that team.

Yes he's an upgrade on those players but the problem is that he's under contract this year so we'd have to pay overs.

And so we give our first pick to the Hawks to get him and then what do we do with the players you've named above as well as Dawson, Spurr, Blakely, Barlow, Ibbo, Clarke etc, replace all of them with Bradley? Because as long as most of those guys are in our 22 Bradley will struggle. He can't win his own ball and these guys would mis place the ball to him on the outside more often than not.

I get a distinctly bad vibe about this one. Reeks of an early Freo trade where players would come over here to cruise for the rest of their career after already achieving what they wanted out of football. A player as soft as Hill would be especially prone to that I feel - I mean, the guy makes his brother look like Troy Cook in comparison.

And it's not like we'd be taking him out of an underperforming system and backing ourselves to improve his output - he's already in the best system in the AFL and he's been very average the last couple of years.

I'd be happy to take him as a free agent or as a cheap uncontracted trade, but as it is I can see us paying a hefty price to end up with a distinctly average performer.

Maybe vote:
1) no deal , dont want him
2) get him cheap
3) get him at all cost for his brother

Nailed it. This potential trade isnt sitting well with me either.

And what's the deal with players breaking contracts. Not cool.

We will want a first round pick. You won't give us your first pick, so it will need to involve a third club.

You just won't get a first round pick. Sorry but not every player on your list is worth a first round pick.

Yeah, I hope we hold our nerve and don't give up too much. The last thing we want is to make Hawthorn stronger by trading away picks or players.
