If Australia were to lose this game, or come mighty close to losing and Katich fails again in the 2nd dig, then surely a century against Tassie and the Windies next week would be enough for Hodgey to get in the team

Hodgey is never going to be a international 1 day player so that means nothing

but yeah anyway i think Hodge Will get a go , hussey and Hodge are easily better players then clarke and katich switch those 4 around and its a far better team

What has Hussey done to show he is better other than smashing County attacks all over the place?

Fact is Hodge is the most in form batsman in Australia over the last 2 years and yet every time a spot opens up they find some bull******** reason to keep him out for less talented players

if selectors didnt have love childs then Lehmann, Beven ,Hodge and Bichel should all be in the side right now

Not sure what that has to do with Brad Hodge, but keep trying if it makes you feel better. 26 domestic cricket trophies over 50 years doesn't seem too much like failure though, compared with Victorias 13 from the same period of time.

And Mick Lewis is a better bowler than Stuart Clark, doesn't mean he will ever play for Australia.

Haha, wouldn't surprise me. He's only played about 30 matches since '98, if you're gonna play him you might as well play Dave Hussey.

Greg Mail is a champ though, if Langer is out injured for the second test, they'll drop Hussey and let mail open.
