Brad Johnsons kick after siren!

Such bitterness could only come from the mouth of a Richmond supporter. Pathetic. You deserve everything your joke of a club serves up to you.

Anyway, feel for ya Doggy fans. Really is a shame to see such a good bloke like Johnno miss on the siren for the second time. No doubt he'll win one for ya's in the near future though. As a club, great work, really took it up to the cats. Proved you are a pretty formidable opponent when your up and running.

Great match to watch. Kudos to both teams. :thumbsu:
Go clean yourself after you prematurely blew it this season, typical carlton gets all hyped up when they are a middle of the table side. Richmond are also a middle of the table side but we are losing games we shouldn't and will get draft picks when we shouldn't. Prepare for Richmond to take the footy world by storm.

That's exactly right, i think these two misses prove that Johnson should be remembered as a very good player, not a champion.

How many of these "champions" had shots at goal after the siren?

It's far to easy to blame the guy taking the kick after the game. Johnno has won plenty of games off his own boot over his career but because they were not goals after the siren they don't count. I know this is BF bu to label him a choker is absoloutley pathetic

Go back to sleep!

Epic choke. Difficult angle but really Johnson would kick that ten times out of ten at training, just like the one against the Roos last year. I was ****ing spewing, could have put us clear on top of the ladder.

btw, not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but geelong really should have been more than a goal up considering Ablett missed from close in a couple minutes before. Wonder if Johnson had kicked it would there have been a thread on Ablett?

You guys are stupid, this is all part of our bigger plan.

Step 1) ''accidentally'' shank the kick, allowing geelong to win the game.

Step 2) ????????

Step 3) Profit

Just out of interest.

Brad Johnson is good enough, and has kicked alot of goals, so I am sure he felt he could kick it with a banana, no doubt he has kicked those dozens of times before.

Just wondering why he did not put it through with his left foot. At point of kick it seemed pretty straight forward kick even on the opposite foot.
I don't see enough of Johnson playing to know the reliability or confidence he has on his left. Would he, and should he have kicked left?

I forgot to adjust my distance from the boundary - the man on the mark was no more than ~3m in from the post. I can't see it being called an easy shot by any description - even Lyon thought it was 6/10 on MMM and he was the harshest of the judges. Not a daylight between the goal posts from that angle.

I never said it was an easy kick mate. I said it was by no means a terribly difficult kick for a player of Johnson's skill.

He would nail 8 or 9/10 of those kicks at training for sure.

As for there being no daylight between the posts, i suggest you take a look at the video directly below your post. There is a fair bit of daylight and by the time he kicks the ball there is even more daylight because he runs off the line of the mark to improve his angle.

The problem was not with the difficulty of the shot. It was more the fact that he was under a heap of pressure and also rushed the kick.

Even Eade shared the same sentiments as myslef in saying that he probably should have stopped when he heard the siren and then went back and taken his preperation again.

Haven't seen Johnno kick on the left too many times. He made the right choice with the banana just didn't execute it.

Thought as much. Was just curious. If it was on the other side of goal, Lloydy certainly would've used his left. I doubt he would,ve even thought twice about it.

Sometimes kicks just don't come off, simple as that.

Coincidently, it was this round last year Johnson missed the other after the siren shot. (Though that has no doubt been said in the thread somewhere)

Absolutely!! it was a blatant hold, and I felt the umpires didn't have the guts to give a free against Geelong that would have cost them the game. In fact, there were probably a total of 5 infringements against Aka.

Are you sure your not a Collingwood supporter - blaming the umpires....... come-on, it was that free kick that wasn't paid (that was there) that cost the dogs the game? doubt it. Usually its want happens in the pervious (approx) 120 minutes of play that decides who wins...:p, not 1 (or 5) umpires right or wrong decisions.

Look!! don't take my word for it - it's on that video just above your post; have a look at it and then tell me what you honestly think. It was blatant!! Aka was held, his jumper was held, his hand was then grabbed, then finally he was pushed in the back.

Aka was infringed atleast 3 times just in that final play alone. Not saying it cost the Dog's the game. Just pointing out the blatently obvious. :thumbsu:

Yet you are strangely silent about how Aker threw David Johnson to the ground 50 metres off the ball and kicked an easy goal 5 minutes earlier.

You have an agenda and denying it just makes you look silly.

Doggies also lost a few seconds with a slow time off call to put him back on the mark after playing on. Mark was taken with 7-6 seconds left, Johnno went back and went to then play on at 2-1 seconds, umpire then blew time off to put him back on after denying it. If anything this'd almost be a case to revert the time back to when the original mark was taken as the ump probably should have called tiem off immediately to then set the angle and time on again once it was set.

So in my view a couple things which could have gone the Doggies way (to go with Akers holding) that just fell the wrong way in the scheme of things and mounted on Johnno.

An agenda? rofl. Yeah you've got me mate. I'm actually a closet Bullies supporter.

In regards to the goal Aker kicked earlier. He did indeed throw him out of the way when the were both wrestling. Once again Johnson was all over him and holding him back so it was pretty much the only way Aker could break free.

No need to be bias or bitter. Your team won mate. :thumbsu:
