Viney is a angry little midget who just think's he's a hard man, WHE threw him around when he tried to get up in Bruzzy's face. Rest of them are a bunch of sooky sniping bullies playing "the Melbourne way".

Can see them trying to go the punch ala 1990 vs the Bombers and ending up with a similar result both in the fight and on the scoreboard.
WHE threw himself around trying to Viney off Maynard

Would be good to see the Melbourne tough guys poke the bear, don’t think it would trouble bruzz and co. one bit. Our boys will just play the ball and get the job done.

It is incredible to me and leaves me quite saddened to see the way some people (and in particular the media) have carried on about this incident. Really poor, too many snipers with agendas and too many hypocrites with memory loss out there.

Was definitely a football incident and was definitely an accident. Because a player was knocked out it needed to be looked at, it was, and the right conclusion was drawn. End of story. If you want to review it at the end of the year because of the head knock go right ahead. But at some point you have to accept that it is a contact sport and accidents like this will occasionally happen. Change too many rules regarding contact and we start to look like touch footy or even netball.

It’s galling the extent to which Melbourne fans and media were desperate to assign blame for what was simply a sickening collision in an AFL game.

Bringing Danny Frawley into it certainly took the ****ing cake though.

The lowest of the low.

The Demon’s response to Kozzy Picketts act:
Over the past 24 hours, we have considered all options available and have had a number of conversations with different people,” Richardson said.

“We respect the ruling of the Match Review Officer and have decided not to challenge the two-match sanction.

“Kozzy is a high-pressure player, who puts his body on the line and plays with speed and intensity, and unfortunately in this instance his action had the potential to cause injury.

"Kozzy’s immediate concern was for his opponent Bailey, who thankfully was uninjured and played out the remainder of the game.”

Slightly different to the ridiculous responses led by their coach to Bruzzy.
Values and principles are meaningless if they don’t hold up when put to the test.
Melbourne FC and certain commentators have comprehensively failed the test.

They'll come out with the same line after Pickett gets suspended for his bump on Cripps tonight.

They can try.

They could also find themselves KO.

A Premiership is worth risking an 8 week suspension.

Rattle his cage if you dare.

If memory serves correct Liam Ryan gave Bruzzy a "Kozzie human rocket" to the ribs in the 2018 GF and wasn't made to pay for it. Disappointed me at the time that we let it pass without much of a response.

It was a perfectly executed fair bump from a hospital pass. Credit to Maynard for getting up. Sier was the only one we should be filthy with.

It will be interesting to see whether the AFL can manage what you couldn't; to propose a workable rule change which makes sense and doesn't threaten the essence of the game.

Kane Cornes was right enough to point out yesterday that the logic of any proposed change will probably dictate a ban of spectacular marking.

Defensive spoils won't be far behind.

In other words, it's not hyperbole to suggest that the game is at risk of outlawing its own existence.
Without knowing the law, I suspect the litigation threat is overblown - except for concussions that have occurred when the AFLshould have known the risk of concussion but hadn't adequately warned players of the risks. I can see junior footy being in trouble due to consent issues, but with adult contact sport can't they just bang a warning label on it like they do with cigarettes?

In terms of Maynard taking out Brayshaw accidentally. Add a further warning in the Tribunal guidelines that contesting a mark is particularly dangerous and make it suspendable if you take out a player if only one of you is doing something particularly dangerous. No suspensions in marking contests because both players are doing something particularly dangerous - unless it meets the current guidelines for careless - like Maynard's roundhouse spoil last year. Then define particularly dangerous so that an act that risks smashing someone in the head is particularly dangerous.

Could/should WHE play a defensive forward role on Whitfield? Perhaps McCreery?
Yep both decent calls.

Mcreery has speed and strength to pressure him savagely.

WHE is such a smart versatile player but maybe his pace isn't a good match? Would keep Whitfield honest at least as he is a fair threat the other way.

I wouldn't change the defence we played against Melbourne. They were all over everything both in the air and importantly considering it's been an issue recently - on the ground.

With Adams missing it would make more sense if Beau had some stints in the guts.
