May be I am wrong but me thinks the underlying basis of this thread is another attempt to rub Carlton's nose in it.

I really wonder if there would be the same level of speculation about who is the best player is now and potentially in the future if they were Carlton players. I think not.

True it would great to have them both but the reality is that Carlton never really had them in the first place.
Oh yes - it is all part of the great anti-Carlton conspiracy

Never seen early draft picks compared on BF before? Or do you just read every post/thread from a Carlton perspective? Is it possible that there could be a topic that in some way isn't associated with Carlton?

I suggest you stick to the Carlton sycophants on TBV if you think this thread is having a go a Carlton!

I would be loathe to equate Goddard to Croad Lidge. I think you will find at that Goddard will be a better footballer in the fullness of time.

Haven't seen much of Goddard to make an informed judgement on him. On the other hand, Wellsy is is developing perfectly and more party tricks on display with the extra game time he gets each week.

Well in a nutshell Goddard was ahead of Wells last season, with Wells being dropped at some stage. Wells is ahead of Goddard this season with Goddard being dropped this season. Both have shown real class and skill.
Wells has great pace, clean hands, a good kick (dont know about his marking ability) and has that X factor of magical play.

Goddard isn't as quick, but has great ability on both sides of his body, a penetrating kick, size and can take a huge mark.

Mabye it would be better to compare Wells to a Davey, and Goddard to Bruce, similiar type players.

Very happy with the way Laidley has gradually gromed/used him at this level. I think we've only seen the tip of the ice berg of what this kid will do over the next decade.

Yes the kid can play. So to can Goddard. Both clubs are blessed to have these two fine players.

Bloke gives an opinion and you have to turn it into a slagfest. Whilst I don't think much of JD's posts at times he is well ahead of you, you're a bonafide dip****.

Soccer blah blah money blah blah hamill blah blah crawl back to tbv blah blah

Thanks for your opinion on who is better( Wells or Goddard) as per this thread. You came on here for one reason. What a pathetic idiot you are

Must really rile you, that you have been shown up for what you are.

I notice you mentioned Hamill again. O

Obsessed

Just burning some time, you know stress relief etc, come on have a look and it's like nothing's changed. Same old bull****. Do you get off on pressing rolleyes? You sure do it a lot. Let me simplify, just one would've sufficed.

Instead trying to get into a slagfest for a change Deej, why dont you give an opinion on the thread subject. Considering these two players may well have been in Navy Blue, I thought you would have been watching them with interest.

I put forward a critique in response to some points Lidge made, why dont you attempt the same thing?

I would be interested in the opinion of a Carlton fans as obviously passionate about your club as you, especially about these two of the "stolen generation".

Oh well I tried to see if you actually had an opinion on this thread, obviously you are so insular, deluded, and stupid, you haven't got one.

When i replied before i actually wrote my opinion then deleted it before i pressed the button.

How am i deluded exactly? This'll be good for a laugh.

For everyone else who cares which is probably zero, I think goddard has far more scope to become a top shelf footballer.

Why the remark, i'm not bagging wells he'll be a good player too. I just get a feeling about goddard the way he plays i reckon he just might turn out to be something special in hird category. Might be wrong who knows.

I think he was just making the point that Daniel Wells might be the one that turns out to be something special and that if you take a close look at the Number 8 for the opposition you might get to see it first hand on Saturday.

;)

I was surprised it took so long for you to reply CJH. ;)

And as wrong as I think you'll be proven to be, at least you had the guts to make your prediction after his first game rather than the person who started this thread who waited until the weekend that Goddard was dropped (first time in 30 games) and Wells kicked that great goal to make a comparison.

For what it's worth I still think he is one of the most talented younger players I've seen and it was very encouraging to see him go back to the VFL and play so well. It might be another season or two before we even allow him to play in the midfield but in the long run he won't just be damaging but at 6'2 very hard to match up on.

I have no problem in saying Goddard will be a gun.

He is balanced, an excellent kick, classy and makes good decisions with the footy in his hands. I have doubts h\over his spoiling techniqe and his intensity.

The theory that Wells is a flighty FP crumber with a few good tricks is misinformed trash. He is a full packaged midifielder who is reluctantly used for 80 minutes a game due to physical devlopment who just happens to be able to burn the turf, kick goals from mid air and win his club footy games.

His strike rate for last minute winning or icing games is mind blowing.

A sign of greatness IMO.
