When you're a lucky win and 6% above North Melbourne this year, a move to the Gold Coast sounds like the right move

I mean, that's a risk either wayExcept he may never win in Melbourne again.
Oppo fans on this thread…
Daniel Rioli stays at Richmond: dumb move, could have gone to the Suns and been in contention, not be playing off for wooden spoons, he owes Richmond nothing, blah blah blah.
Daniel Rioli goes to the Suns: disloyal, Richmond gifted him three flags, needed to be around for the re-build, the Suns aren’t going anywhere anyway, sullied the Rioli name at Punt Rd, blah blah blah.
Looks like the specifics of this deal are coming together now. Expecting Dan Rioli to be in the red and gold next year. The Rioli deal

The problem is that one of them is an end-of-first-round selection that might drift into the mid-20s. The Suns have their own first-rounder, the Western Bulldogs’ first-rounder and the Kangaroos’ end-of-first-rounder (from the club’s AFL assistance package). So, the Tigers might be able to add two early picks to a draft hand that is currently 2, 22 and 34. But while Richmond would ask for the best of the Dogs’ or Suns’ draft picks, last year the Roos’ end-of-first-rounder fell as far as pick 29.

Not a chance in hell that'd get a deal done.2 “first rounders” that are actually picks that are traditional second rounders makes way more sense than 2 teens or top 10 picks.
22 & 28 as a random guess of where the picks may fall I feel would be a fair deal.

As a Freo supporter we will all bow to your expertise on the matterHe's also, yknow, kinda ****in shit.
Clueless. Would be in your top 10 players. then again Freo are kinda ****in shit .He's also, yknow, kinda ****in shit.
What's the asking price realistically? No chance lmao
To convince us to trade him? Probably what Ralph reported, maybe doesn't need the North PP if we really like someone in the range in this draft. Think he has 4 years left or at least 3 so not really much motivation to trade unless it's very good draft capital. What's the asking price realistically?

Agreed. Has had one good season where he was an AA nominee and that’s it. No club awards, a goal of the year and 6 career Brownlow votes at the age of 28 in Jan.
He's better off half-back than he was as a small forward. Agree though that the Suns look like they are willing to pay overs based on what's been said in the media and posted here. His career prior to the shift in position is unremarkable as he was really just playing a role and wasn't much of a standout compared to other small forwards in the comp. I still love him though and I'd hate to see him go, but if the Suns want to put a ridiculously overpriced offer forward then I think the Tigers would be stupid not to take it.Agreed. Looks like this one is pretty much done now. Only stubborness from Richmond will stop it from here.
Who hurt you?Looks a bored footballer in his current club.
He will go chase the money.
And 6 months into the contract put the feet up and live on easy street.
Played one consistent year in his career.
