Brenden Abbott our 2nd pick 185cm 92kg per http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/4826

188cm 95kg per http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/brenden-abbott

Originally from Albany, WA. Abbott is a powerful, physical half-back flanker with explosive speed, strength and agility. He has a fantastic vertical leap and a hard-nosed approach to winning the contested ball. Abbott played just seven games for Claremont in the WAFL colts competition and one match for the WA U18s before heading home to Albany for personal reasons. Has the ability to play on taller opponents due to his impressive vertical leap. Ran a lightning quick 2.87s in the 20m sprint at the state combine, making him rare in this category.

Also an Australian bank robber per google

Wow, 2.87s is fast in anyone's book, but for a big bullocking guy with his build that's lightning.

Also seems to be conflicitng reports of how many games he played this year? AFL.com draft tracker saying 13 games, but then on his bio it says he only played 8 games total this year?

If the latter is true, he may have significant scope for improvement in the right environment.

Kicked 18 goals in 15 games. Kicked 9 of those goals in 2 games. That leaves a whopping total of 9 goals in 13 games. Thats almost Tom Boyd territory, the guy is a gun. In for a huge pay rise.
To be fair, he did that as a 18/19 year old playing against men. He might be the oldest-looking 19 year old in the world but still

Played 15 senior matches for Claremont in the WAFL this year. Kicked 18 goals playing predominantly up forward, including a bag of five and a bag of four. Strong-bodied aggressive forward with a ferocious attack on the ball. He's capable of taking a strong mark and is a thumping left-foot kick. Would make a bullocking midfielder at AFL level but there are question marks over his fitness and discipline. However, he did apply himself well at Claremont this season.

Yes a classic rookie. Has some real tricks to his game and is tough and a good kick. His issues have been re application, and managing his weight. Has found the pressure and commitment too much in the past hence not being drafted. Been told we is well worth a rookie punt.

Must have been on the cusp last year and would think a pretty decent chance this year given his performances for Claremont at senior level. Kid has some presence about him and likes to get involved in physical side of it. Reads the game pretty well and was played forward and back in the games I saw this year and I thought was handy at all of them. Athletically good but its his foot skills that you want. He really is a good user and if he keeps the physical stuff and continues to work on his fitness he will be a good get for someone.

I love the selection of Abbott, high risk, high reward. Size and pace plus must have a far bit of skill to be playing predominately out of the forwarded line in the WAFL. Great rookie selection. love it.

Welcome to the show that never ends, young man.
He might end up being the big show, so ill call it now with the NICK NAME OF THE BIG SHOW and he also looks old like the this big show below

Rapt to see Abbott come to the footy club. I would have preferred one or two others but as I mentioned he would be a great get for a club who was sure that his discipline issues were under control. Eagles and Freo were linked to him and was some comments leaving WA might not be on the cards but our blokes obviously ticked him off. He is aggressive this kid and will become a favourite pretty quickly. Raking left foot on him as well.

Gee can see the theme cant we - physical kids, can play a few different roles, all circa 185-7cm and are skillful. Love it!
