In 2 years it'll be 7 for Fagan and in theory we will have got our new facility up and running

Perfect time for him to depart.
Yes, if Chapman goes now & then Fagan leaves in 2-3 years would be best for the club.

Also, need to keep refreshing the board, with appropriate skill mix.

Then he had the gall to say the external review matched up with our internal review.

It's just confirmation of what the cynics on this board have been saying for years. The admin don't give a shit about success. All they care about is keeping themselves and their buddies employed.
If the external review matched the internal one, why did he sack Burton a week after praising him?

In other words the rest of the board blindly believed what the chairman and head of football were telling them until they were confronted with the facts from the external review.

Major arse covering exercise

Fact 2 - Burton/Hass took over our fitness department at the end of 2015. That's a good 18 months before hamstring epidemic started (or 30 months going by your erroneous timeline). Hamstring epidemic is Burton/Hass alone.

I agree broadly with your post, but I'm pretty sure Hass didn't arrive until the end of 2016.

Yeah. Burton was doing the head of fitness role in 2016 and got promoted to GM at the end of that year. Hass was brought in the replace Burton.
Hass was hired as a Strength and Conditioning coach under Burton originally. Then within 2 or 3 weeks Burton got promoted and we instantly promoted Hass to cover Burton's position. Didn't even look for anyone else, at the time Burton was joking how he'd be Prime Minister at the end of the year since he'd already been promoted to a GM position after a week at the club.

ScoMo or Burton... hmmm. Line ball

I shouldn't be surpised that an incompetent like Burton would crack jokes about our club's complete lack of oversight.

That'd be my ideal. Get rid of Roo and Chapman next year (well tomorrow would be even better, but can live with the end of 2020), then Fagan the year after.

I thought Roo might have resigned with the excuse of wanting to focus on his media career. He certainly didn't cope well with the supporter backlash during 2019.

I just wish I was there to see it happen. They should have auctioned off tickets and done it in one of those operating rooms with the viewing areas. I’d have bought tickets to both.

I heard a rumour that he was told over the phone.

No idea whether that's true or not, but I remember seeing someone claiming to have been behind Burton when he was told and they said that he completely lost it and was swearing and abusing whoever he was on the phone to.

That’s a shit thing to tell him over the phone. However, it could have been Roo giving him a headsup?

It is often done over the phone

If you give them a "Hi Brett, are you able to please come into my office tomorrow morning? We need to talk" call he's bound to ask why anyway.

Even Burton could put 2 and 2 together

The only other way is to grab him while he's in the office in which case it's a firing in front of his co-workers followed by security immediately escorting him off the premises.

Fagan should have been the ground announcer at our last home game & sacked Burton over the PA as he was walking across the ground during the half time break... for full affect. ;)

Strange thread bump but I'm open to making this the "feel good, corona virus free thread of positive vibes".

Remembering the day Campo and Burton got sacked is such a fond memory for me.
That wasn't the effect I was going for, I was just disagreeing with the comment made.

Though this event is also a fond memory for most of us.

Do excuse my ignorance
No problem. I'm still open to turning this thread into a haven of positive vibes.

We should all post reaction gifs of how we felt when we heard the news about Burton and Campo getting sacked. I'll start.
