- Lids is 30 next year.
- Has 20 - 40 games in him
- Has struggled to get on the park in the last 2 years
- has flagged an interest in leaving richmond to Geelong
- If he stays a richmond in 2017, he becomes an UFA and leaves for something like a R3 or R4 (which is what a 31 year old will get as compo) at the end of next year.

It's take an early R2 (which Geelong may be able to manufacture) or watch him walk out next year for R3+

No 30 year old is worth a round 1 pick - it is that simple.

If richmond refuse to budge - great he stays for another year and you get a pick in the 40s/50s as compo next year.

Quite true. No one will agree with you though.

His job when he was there was to intercept, rebound, create and setup plays through having a superior football brain and quality disposal. That he was AA back there suggests he was fairly well regarded for how well he did it.
Sounds like Corey Enright circa 2016.
but alas Tuohy would be the defender and Deledio the HFF and midfielder if we were to get both.

I agree that he's not worth a 1st considering his age and injury history.

He's worth more to the Tigers in terms of keeping the fans happy than he would be in a trade.

Has 50+ games left in him
Has played 29 games the past two years
Has said when asked by his club if he would be interested in being traded to Geelong that he would be
He will be a 30yo UFA

Why would he walk to Geelong next year?
Has he demanded to be traded to Geelong?
Has he told Richmond he has no interest in playing for them anymore?

In 1 years time Geelong may be irrelevant and then the interest he had is gone.

If you want him, you'll pay a first because that is the price. You came to us wanting to get your hands on him. We obliged by asking if he would be interested which he said yes and advised you the price. At no stage did you gain any leverage in this situation.

Yeah, has to be a pick in the first round or hold onto him at Richmond. Not worth it otherwise given Deledio doesn't seem unwilling to stay.

And according to media reports an $800,000 contract.

Can't see that fitting in with Dangers money tbh

I think Deledio is not worth a r1 pick due to his age and injury concern. Round 2 is fair, but r1 isnt worth it. The tigers hold the cards this year, but if Geelong hold off and wait until next year, we can get a compo for Motlop ( relief of salary cap space) and get Deledio for a packet of chips. Then Geelong will have 2 first rounders next year and Deledio...

Deledio played 18 games in 2015 and was AA he played 19 in 2014 prior to that hardly missed. Yes this year only played half a year but will be back a full fitness for 2017 its a first round pick or he doesn't go!

Would have thought a 1st rounder as least, Richmond have stated that they don't want Motlop. Is there another player at Geelong that might help the deal be complete.

Then he doesnt go and we get him next year for biscuits...mid 20's is fair value for a injury prone 30 year old..

Selwood may have less games left in him than deledio

Not injury prone and he is a restricted free agent next year not that simple and whose to say he will walk next year. Daniel wells is an injury prone 32 year old Roos will get a first round compo pick for him due to the contract Cats need to get a first round pick if they want Deledio
