The irony is that in an effort to punish BT for using that word, the PC brigade will be exposing it to thousands more with the publicity they'll give it.

This country is full of whingers and sooks. If the worst thing that happened to you today was hearing BT call someone a ****ta, then I'd say you're doing pretty well with life.

Much better. ;)

Before everyone gets up on their ******* soap boxes, did Harry Taylor have a problem with what he was called? I'd say the answer is no. In which case, why the bloody hell should a bunch of sensitive nuffies on a football forum be up in arms about it for him?

Disgraceful point of view...has nothing to do with harry taylor..the term ****ta is intended to be a negative term against gay people. any gay person watching it could have been offended.

Start thinking about the segment of people who the term is slurred at.....bigot

What the rednecks in this thread deride as "political correctness" is seen by people with a brain as common human decency and a respect for your fellow human beings, regardless of sexual orientation.

If calling someone a "****ter" equates to lacking "common human decency" and respect for other people, then we live in a sad, sad world.

On top of that, my teachers in high school used to call the troublemakers "****ters", meaning showoffs and people being eccentric and outlandish for the sake of it.

All things considered it is fairly cringeworthy all the footy talking heads tripping over each other to get good press off of this. Wonder how outraged they'd be if they heard someone say it in the street and there wasn't an audience to bear witness to their tolerance.

check out the poll result so far!? What is wrong with people!?

46% say "No, I like BT's colourful commentary."

Bring on the the apocalypse.

I was under the impression that the AFL had targetted anti-gay sentiment as something they wanted to stamp out of the game. And in my opinion that is an excellent standpoint to take. However when you get the official broadcaster of AFL games making those sprts of offensive comments, and all the other goons in the room laughing along with him, then it rather weakens that stance doesn't it. I'd like to see the AFL raise an objection to it and I'd like to see fans of the game also think it's not OK that someone with an audience of impressionable people is allowed to do it. Is that not reasonable?

Where did you go to school? Kalgoorlie?

Tipping the apology to go be something along the lines of "his waving was icky, gays were the first thing to come to mind"
