In hindsight, I think letting Roos ride off into the sunset was a mistake. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, and given Roos was done coaching for the time being, we made the most of the situation. And Horse was obviously the best candidate to take over - and won a flag with the list as well.

But I can't help think that if we'd allowed Roos to take a sabbatical. Then resume his position at the club, we may have been sitting on a couple more premierships at this point.

I'd love to see Roos back at the club. It doesn't necessarily need to be as the head coach, but he has a lot of experience in putting a premiership list together and driving a winning culture at the club.

One major difference I see in the Roos vs Longmire lists is that Roos' teams could be characterised as gritty and determined while Horse's latest iteration seems to be a more flashy / skilful group. A slight move back to a more gritty list / gamestyle would be an improvement.

Anyone in support of bringing Roos back in some capacity?

How about rename them, the "Kanga Roos" as all the cool kids say it these days.

Even have a theme song for them to chant at their opening match ;)

Also, sorry for the GF result for your mob against mine, hopefully we are still good friends between Lions and Swans supporters.

Didn't he get involved at North and dig them into a deeper hole?
Yep took a lot of money in a consultancy role. And then took some cheap potshots a few months ago that a Carlton 1980’s 2nd side would beat our current side. Not his classiest moment, and pretty poor form from a guy on the payroll in our darkest period.

Yep our side and form has been poor, and Clarko/Viney et. al have been trying to dig us out of this considerable hole. We welcome Luke Parker and other older recruits to instilling hardness and professionalism across the younger playing group.

Would Roos be in support of it? Seems pretty happy floating around the world, dropping in and out of short gigs when he's in the mood. Seems like a nice life. I'd hang onto it if I was him

Sydney should stop looking into the past. Roos is done.
The fact that Sydney can consistently make Grand Finals shows that the coaching staff are doing a good job.

Mentally, the players don't apply themselves in the Grand Final. The last two efforts have been pitiful, but Longmire is not solely responsible for players performing in that vain. He would have gone into the game feeling the training load during the finals was good, the players were mentally fresh and good to go, and the attitude would have been as expected.

Bringing back Roos won't change that.

This will never get old.

Always! I said to a couple of Lions fans on the way out of the MCG on that dreadful day (from our perspective anyway), if we had to choke in another GF, there's not another team in the comp I'd prefer it to be against.
Very worthy premiers - and you should be b2b.

What a Grand Final where we got smashed has done to our fanbase lol. Funny and sad at the same time.

Nah but seriously, let Roos enjoy retirement.

If it was one Grand Final sure, but 2014, 2022 and 2024 makes it really hard to take.

Longmire is shite when it comes to getting players up for a Grand Final, or creating a gameplan that holds up in a Grand Final.

This video clip always puts a smile on my face. It is so quintessentially Norf.
