Up in Brisbane this week against the Lions, 4th vs 15th and the final match of the weekend. Going to be a tough ask going up against a top 4 team given we couldn't even defeat the Suns at home last week. Sigh. It's been one of those seasons where the gaps in our list seem to become more obvious with each game.

“We've taken the approach that it's just another challenge for us and the expectation from our perspective is to win," he said.
"I’s a great opportunity to get the learnings out of out of the game that you're going to get out of playing the Premier and it's their home ground. We've got nothing to lose and we just go up there full of hope."

AFLW senior coach Scott Gowans has confirmed his side to travel north this weekend for a clash with the Brisbane Lions. Three changes have been named for Round 9, including the return of All-Australia midfielder Laura Gardiner.
The 2023 Club Champion is also joined by Julie O'Sullivan who sustained an injury to her elbow in Round 7 and Bella Smith.
Speaking to Sydney Swans Media, Gowans says they'll bolster their team against a top four side.
"It's really important obviously to have Laura back in the midfield. Bella comes back into the side to give us a bit of height down forward and also a chop out in the ruck, which we've needed some help. And Julie O'Sullivan just shores up our defence a little bit, so it's a good side this week," Gowans noted.

I'm sick of the umpires paying holding when the player drops the ball. It should have been a shot to us right in front of goal and instead Brisbane are able to take it all the way down for a goal. They haven't even looked like scoring before then.

I really like our indigenous guernsey, however we should have worn a clash strip today. It's fine when the footage is close up, but from a distance it's difficult to tell the difference from behind.

Able to stem the tide that quarter. Some good passages of ball movement but a lack of clean disposal into the f50 and also a lack of forward presence meaning we only scored a behind.Think we are kicking into a stiff breeze in the last. All I ask is we continue the tackling pressure and don;t allow the Lions to kick a string of quick consecutive goals.
