Traded Brodie Grundy [Traded to Melbourne for #27]

And the rest of the AFL is also watching that players are capable of elite performance into their 30’s. So Grundy has got years of good football ahead.

If so answer me this, why did Collingwood sign him to a $7m contract and now deciding to trade him off?

Which part is a lie? You said Grundy will keep us in a premiership window (which implies our current list including Petracca, Oliver, May, Gawn won’t).

Additionally Collingwood do prefer to play Mason Cox over Grundy, hence the trade.

Digging yourself into a hole mate and falling back onto nothing except personal insults trying to get out of it.

Absolutely hilarious and embarrassing.
You’ve lied about claims I’ve made about those players.
Your inferences are NOT my words.

So move on mate - you’ve got nothing more to offer.

Geelong paid 3 1sts for Cameron who was only a year younger. It's looking good so far but not across the line.

I'm disinclined to take ruck list management advice from a supporter of a club that has relied on and failed with Stanley.

Everything has gone right for the Cats this year but there's still time for an epic choke.
Actually it was picks 15 and 18 for Cameron.
Two late first rounders.
He's paid his way so far. Won half a dozen games for us already.
Without him we wouldn't even be here today waiting on another prelim.
As for Pick 20 (Our last 1st rounder) was swapped for picks 29 & 30 the following year.

Nothing's wrong with him (apart from being 31 at the start of next year), but everything is wrong with Melbourne's decision making. They are convinced that they need a direct replacement for Luke Jackson, but what they really need is someone like Paddy Ryder who can pinch hit both forward and in the ruck.
Fine, but who is this mythical Paddy Ryder clone? Please don't say Rory Lobb.

Just reminding you that Tom McDonald was a forward as a junior. So everything you just said is incorrect. Grundy isn't athletic mate, that is such a myth. He is slowing down at the rate of knots. So yeah Grundy isn't helping melbourne up forward. And he'd be behind Gawn in the ruck.
Then why are they after him? Why’d they meet with him?

You said exactly that. “Dees need Grundy to stay in premiership window”

Whose backpedaling now?

Just my two cents as a dogs fan.

I’d love a situation where we offered a late first rounder for Grundy. Collingwood would chip in a bit if the salary. We tell Tim English he’s going to play the Lobb role we had in mind and Grundy is the number one.

Finally some sense. Laughable that Melb supporters are talking a third rounder for Grundy.

Sorry, but this is utter crap. You say that, then end the same quote with ‘hilarious and embarrassing’.

You can't compare Tim English to the 6 time AA ruckman. a massive difference between taking English out of the ruck to taking Gawn. Secondly, that would be a horrible move for the dogs as English isn't a great forward and Sam Darcy and Naughton is more than enough height.

Taking Gawn out of the ruck makes him a largely ineffective player.

Taking English out of the ruck makes him an even more effective player than he currently is.

You’re right.

How is Mason Cox not ahead in the pecking order?

Grundy is up for trade when Mason Cox is not. Implies the Pies prefer to run with a Cameron/Cox combo in 2023 instead of a Cameron/Grundy combo.

By the admission of your own supporters Gawn is struggling and his body can’t cope with full time Rucking.
So if WB offer a 1st Rounder, then you’d be silly to pass on Grundy by not upping your offer.
