Just wondering if anyone has any hot tips as to who's gonna take out the Charlie? Maybe someone that has slipped through the cracks?

My hot tip is Joel Corey, I've watched a lot of football this year, and Joel Corey has clearly been the most consistent midfielder in the comp - he hasn't had a bad game. He does all the hard stuff and doesn't mouth off to the umps so that's always an advantage. Ablett has had a few awesome games which he will obviously poll BOG in but Joel Corey has been in the best 5 players (with a few BOG's) in nearly every game this year - good bet.

Anyone else?

With the run of suspensions and injuries to A-grade players, I think the Brownlow this year is wide open.

Any number of players (from Geelong) could win it.

Simon Black

Polled very well last year and had a mediocre season aswell, had an awesome first 15 rnd this year, he'll be up there + the umps love him.

My mail is on the following:

-Demetriou will stuff up half the names of the players: "Whoever thought Johnson was an ethnic name?"
-There will be about three women that WONT dress like tarts.
-Channel Ten's (or Seven's) projected winner will pick up about three votes.
-Every player that picks up votes will still "ignore" the camera by pretending to say something to the person next to them
-Someone from Collingwood, West Coast or Geelong (or Travis Johnstone) will deliberately make a tool out of themselves on national television.
-Dale Thomas will still look like a girl
-The Footy Show will still show a pointless and slightly annoying segment of Billy Brownless/Garry Lyon/Shane Crawford/******** Newman pretending to be smashed for the cameras.

A couple of good betts would be K Cornes or Delidio. Cornes always gets a few votes and this year he hasn't had many players taking votes of him. The only thing is neither play in a team that has probably won enough games.

I put a bet on last year of Ablett/Bartel to go 1st and 2nd, seems as though my bet was just a year to early, so i'll be repeating that bet this year.

As a smokie, or if there's a top 5 option then i'll also put a bit on J Selwood. He's a freak, wins plenty of the ball and wins plenty of free kicks, meaning the umps notice him.

Now that ive talked up the mighty Catters, outside of them i'd say only B Harvey or possibly Cooney are the only other worthy choices.

That'd be a pretty good top 5

Corey will struggle to poll with Selwood, Bartel and Ablett standing out. The Brownlow rewards standout performances not consistency so players like Corey will struggle to get votes in my opinion. Guys like Black, Harvey, Kirk, Pavlich and Riewoldt should poll well.
Deledio, Swan,O'Keefe and Scott Thompson could be roughies.
Also, remember the champions data brownlow votes just after the half way point this season. Ablett was on 23 (I think) and Goodes was on 14. Since then Ablett wouldn't have polled and Goodes might have scrapped 1 vote in the Hawthorn game and 3 votes against Fremantle. So Goodes could be on 18 votes at the moment. If he plays well towards the end of the season, like he normally does I'd put money on him for a placing in the Top 5.

Swan always polls well. He's had a pretty good season again, and he was probably BOG last week. If he can continue that form, I'm sure he will poll really well over the next three weeks.

As soon as i saw this thread i knew a pussy supporter wrote it.I dont care as long as no Pussy player wins it:)
Spoken like a true hawks supporter with an underlying jealousy of everything Geelong ever does..............the thread asked for brownlow hot tips, or are you having trouble reading twit?

Ablett will only have to have two strong vote getting performnaces towards the end of the year to take it - and we play the Kangas in one of those games, and considering he possibly picked up the three the last time we played, i say he might scrag 1-2 more votes for the year. Put your hard earned on the Son of God..............with Brent Harvey a close second, bartel third, Franklin fourth then Adam Goodes or Cooney Fifth.
You heard it hear first

That comes pretty close to what I reckon will happen.
Then again the umpires are involved, and if anyone can stuff anything up.....

You heard it here second.

haha i agree. except for the tart one, i'm sure they'll look fine :thumbsu:

Is that taking the piss, he has only ever polled one BOG is whole career, he doesn't get votes as he is under the packs and doesn't stand out. People have forgotten how good Cooney was the first 14 rounds, if he manages to poll again in last couple of games could be a chance, but Ablett and Bartel should be up in the lead.
