I could see him struggle to pole early then tearing it up late

After rd10 or 12 he will surely snag a few to get him over the line

He was front page news at the time

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010 (Part 2)

I'm about to shoot off to work. Does anyone mind firing me a quick text if these markets come out between now and 10?

Everyone seems to be ruling out Tuck. Personally, I have Tuck on 10 (R10 - 3, R12 - 2, R13 - 2 & R18 -3). I am not confident he will win it, but I think he is as much a threat to Riewoldt as Deledio is. What do others have Tuck on?

I have Tuck on 4-5 with JVolt on a minimum of 7. I remember including Tuck on a list of players often overlooked by umpires.

Consider me one of those people ruling him out

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010 (Part 2)

damnittt fu.cking tab are so unreliable

 Got excited that they would be out today, have like no work to do either.

Amazing to see Boak/Green have both basically halved from opening at $6. Terrible results for TAB.

stats wise lids has been worse, his played HBF last year he had more stats and played midfield and lost to richo.. doesnt poll well hows he going to poll from the backline?

Btw when u call up tab do they ask for ur pin BK? i found it odd since when im at the TAB they tell me not to give them my pin
I've never called the TAB and don't have an acct, I'm an anonymous, in person man when putting al these exotic bets on.

Wish i got boak at $6 still happy with $4.50 though, grabbed a bit on green at $5.50 as well although i think Sylvia at $4 is better.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010 (Part 2)

I'd be a bit worried about riewoldt aswell, as been said heaps of times the brownlow is extremely biased towards midfielders and will most likely continue to be this year.

2009:

J Brown - 19 votes
N Riewoldt - 15 votes
J Koschitzke - 11 votes
B Fevola - 11 votes
M Pavlich - 10 votes
M LeCras - 9 votes

Big-marking, goal-kicking, match-winning forwards poll alright as well

Thanks for all the J Volt feedback guys.

Deledio rolled me last year ( stopped me from winning heaps more ) so I'd hate him to do the same again.

At the end of the day you can't cover off everything I suppose.

This is a great stat, you're right even big bad Fev polled quite well in 09 ! I'm feeling heaps better now.

Cheers, Fev was pretty predictable really, when he kicked big bags he polled, with the exception of an 8 goal haul in a 4 point loss to Hawthorn but Roughead kicked 8 as well that day so competition was stiff!

Personally I think the umps are a bit traditional and would love nothing more than to see a classic full forward-type win the medal but they just don't have the 10 or so outstanding games that your Abletts, Judds etc manage to pull off within a season

Re: Brownlow Medal 2010 (Part 2)

On the TAB they have the quinella group for 1st and 2nd in no particular order. I think it is worth having a go on Ablett-Judd combo at $26 dollars?
Anyone else seen any good bets in these other markets?

I think there's good value in the quinellas (especially if you rate Judd) but shop around, you can do better than TAB odds. Sportsbet for example have the Ablett-Judd quinella at $36

FWIW I also had a nibble at Judd-Pendlebury at $126

Its certainly overs i put cash on the following (barely anything)
Judd/Ablett @ $36 (got in when it was released)
Judd/Swan @ $23
Judd/Pendles @ $101
Ablett/Pendles @ $23

I really like this stat.
I have covered Reiwoldt with lids in 30% of multis but this makes me more confident. I just feel Reiwoldt stands out with his high flying pack marks and he has had big influences on games. He is well noticed.
He will win IMO. Im much more confident now
Kosie surely surprised us last year.

I haven't had time to work this out numerically for myself, but for some of you with many boxed multi's like myself, would you win more if players such as Harvey/Swallow, Goodes/Jack, Boak/Cassisi etc. tied?

I realise of course that payouts will be halved for each, but I was wondering with the sheer number of bets some of us have down and having many more come through as a result of the tie, the overall effect this would have on profits?

Depends had to say and varies with each 2 horse race,

Boak/Cassisi tie over boak winning is worse.
Goodes/Jack tie is about even, prob prefer Jack to win outright though although it would screw a few of my long shot multis.
Harvey/Swallow - prefer Harvey outright.

I've worked out that I will win heaps more if I can get an upset or 2 happening in the team votes. i.e Jack / Barlow / Pendlebury or similar winning. Even though they are used in less multis than the favs in their bracket, the payouts really balloon.

I'm assuming a tie would be better than the favourite winning.

Recalled TAB asked to speak to the betting manager, told me they will be released on Wed around lunchtime, H2H + group votes that is. He said he was the NRL betting manager and the AFL one wasnt avail, but his screen said Wed for H2H + group votes.
