Re: Who do you think will win the Brownlow?

We need designated panelists awarding brownlow votes at each game. Its time to take it away from the umpires. Forwards will never get a decent go at it the way its happening now.

Perhaps one umpire, one media person, one ex player, and an ex coach can all put in their votes for each game, and come out with a 3,2,1 system that way.

Of course there would have to be people willing to do this once or twice a week as required, but im sure that won't be hard to find.

The medal loses credibility every year, especially with the introduction of things like champion data and the like.

Re: Who do you think will win the Brownlow?

Bartel.
Cooney second.

Not the worst I've seen. I've run a cross media analysis of the brownlow, round by round, and the most obvious thing that one can deduce is that ablett is an unlikely favourite. I have the excel spreadsheet available for anybody that wants a leg up...

Re: Who do you think will win the Brownlow?

bartel will not win the brownlow

only really dominated last 3rd of the season

looks like ablett or kirk

Re: Who do you think will win the Brownlow?

Will have a fair idea by halfway mark, ABlett and Cooney would need to be on or over 20 by halfway otherwise Harvey or Bartel will win

Re: Who do you think will win the Brownlow?

This is no way a dig at Jimmy (I think he's a top player) but am I the only one who reckons he's not elite?

Maybe poor choice of description. Maybe not as elite as the top players in the comp. The Ablett's, Franklin's, Judd's etc?

Add if he won the Brownlow, it'd kinda devalue the whole notion of it.

Bit harsh, but yeah.....

Re: brownlow bets.

Put $50 on Bartel on the morning of the brownlow last year and pocketed $500.

Am really liking Jimmy and Juddy this year. ;)

Forget Judd. I've done a round by round analysis, assessing performances across multiple media reports. I have an in-depth spreadsheet for those that are interested...

Definitely interested if it is available mate :thumbsu:

In particular what does your spreadsheet say about a Bartel-Black quinella...

Re: Who do you think will win the Brownlow?

for what its worth which is bugger all, i think judd will win, reason is the umpires love him and everyone wants to see his missus on tv

no love for judd? okay, will be interesting on the night. i reckon its only out of the big 4 (gaz, jimmy, boomer or judd)..
and yes, im very interested in your spreadsheet, if available

Re: brownlow bets.

best value for a bet that is an absolute moral is bartel - ablett quinella which is paying $3.50. From the round-by-round analysis that I've done, I can't see anyone coming first or second (I have cooney in third but will not beat ablett).

Put a bit on that and its easy money....

How does your analysis work for someone the umps have a man crush on eg. Goodes?

A few of my mates think that Kirk is a sure bet from Sydney to poll the most votes but it wouldn't surprise me if goodes pipped him.
