Justice Lee again on the MEAA Code of Conduct pertaining to The Project team.

In light of their non-membership to the MEAA, Lee is asking via if the journalists / producers / Wilkinson agree that these are reasonably believe the norms of the profession of journalism:

Journalists are educate themselves themselves about ethics and apply the following standards:

1. Report and interpret honestly, striving for accuracy, fairness and disclosure of all essential facts. Do not suppress relevant available facts, or give distorting emphasis. Do your utmost to give a fair opportunity for reply.

4. Do not allow personal interest, or any belief, commitment, payment, gift or benefit, to undermine your accuracy, fairness or independence.

Gives a good insight as to where he is at on the obstruction of justice side of the defamation claim.

That's hilarious in light of recent revelations and Channel 7s Spotlight form.

All Wilkinson did was to believe Higgins was telling the truth, have a couple of alcoholic beverages over dinner and educate her about the questions she would be asked. Oh, and she called Linda Reynolds a 'nobody'. Shocker.

The lack of integrity of the Spotlight interview has literally nothing to do with the integrity The Project interview.

I'd wager the underlined is what Lee is most looking at:

1. Report and interpret honestly, striving for accuracy, fairness and disclosure of all essential facts. Do not suppress relevant available facts, or give distorting emphasis. Do your utmost to give a fair opportunity for reply.

4. Do not allow personal interest, or any belief, commitment, payment, gift or benefit, to undermine your accuracy, fairness or independence.

It would largely replay to The Project as a whole. Some aspects to Wilkinson to a lesser degree.
 
From what just went down in court, sounds like Lehrmann is probably going to be facing a contempt of court investigation for allegedly illegally providing confidential court documents to Auerbach (and denying this in court).

IMHO - apart from the multiple rape claims, this is the worst of the worst of all the allegations made during this disgraceful saga.

A so-called independent Kings Council appointed to provide an independent adjudication on the integrity of the ACT criminal justice system caught out in constant communication with a politically partisan opinion columnist of the Murdoch Press.

If only Justice Lee and his system of open and transparent justice was appointed to adjudicate on the matter.

But I'm not going out on a limb here to say once he's issued his judgement on the Lehrmann defamation trial he will want nothing else to do with the whole turgid shit-show.

There was something Sofronoff said early in that alerted me as to how this was going to proceed and that Drumgold was to go under the bus.

He shouldn't have said it and I wish I'd bookmarked it. I actually muttered under my breath when I heard it "Uh oh".

When I get time I'll go back and find it.
