'Not Fade Away' and 'Fade Away' are different. One's the Buddy Holly song which he used in 1978 and 1988 to lead into 'She's the One'... the other is the one from The River.

Yeah just picked that up when i checked something. You're a big fan of Fade Away aren't you UFG??

Hell yeah. Scored in the top 10 when I did my 101 Top Bruce songs many moons ago.

Might not make that high now, but would still be top 20 easily.

Not sure why Bruce shies away from it. Reached #20 on the US singles charts back in 1980.

He's back in Oz.

Looks like I sold Bruce short when i said he only got 45-50k at the FNB stadium. That video I posted was from Shout the last song - but there had been delays with rigging issues and rain so it was probably a late start and Shout would have been on after midnight. This video of the start and Free Nelson shows the stadium was packed which is 65k for concerts.

No Dancing in the Dark, Born in the USA, I'm on Fire or My Hometown?

What a ripoff!!!

24. DITD = Dancing in the Dark. It will be played every night.

BITUSA will get played once in Perth. He has 300 songs he can pull out, not just stuff from BITUA album. He has had 11 studio albums since then.

Yeah he has a huge catalogue to choose from but a lot of people at his concerts would be most familiar with BITUSA and hoping he just plays that whole album and nothing else.

Well they are delusional if they think that way. Perth has waited 40 years and there is a new album so they are going to get a spread of new and the other 17 albums.

Encore - house lights up - everybody out of their seats - like last year.

I was up near the back from this position. What a gig !!!

My friend wash in the mosh with a sign that said "My dad delayed his bypass surgery to be here". She has travelled with her dad every tour to go and see Bruce.

What a treat to hear Kitty's Back.

I loved For You as a quiet piano piece and the Thunder Road acoustic was beautiful.

The Wrecking Ball songs really stand up against his back catalogue. They lend themselves to great live performances.

Did I say how good it was ?

Thistle get your ass in here boy!
Really enjoyed it and was one of the most entertaining and fun gigs I've been to which is saying something as I don't know too many of his songs. Tom Morello was awesome but disappointed they didn't play Glory Days or Born in the USA as the were a couple of the few tunes I know haha.

I sat next to the old girl from WA at Rod Laver 1 last year. She was fantastic! Wore that sequinned waistcoat too.

From Greasy Lake set list thread

And Val Holland, the woman who had a 32 yr old dream to dance with Bruce during DITD, did!!!

In a three hour and five minute show, Springsteen didn't just add a few new tracks from his latest album into an already established set list, he took the sell-out audience on a ride through his extensive work and showed them why he is able to come Down Under twice in one year and still leave you wanting more
......
If you only see two shows this year, see this one. Twice. (And then see it again.)
