There are probably 5-10 songs that can understandably be number 1.
Had a long drive from Warrnambool to the Mornington Peninsula tonight (Pt Leo) and listened to few albums right through. Realised that I still don't like Kitty's Back and that Sandy 4th July is still a great, great song, with the Madam Marie line right up there with the very best of his lyrics. Was Sandy in your top 100? I just don't remember (I may have to get you to email it to me). Cheers

Back to back shows in Perth has confirmed for me he will do multiple dates in every city.

At a guess...

13th added for Adelaide
16th/17th for Melbourne
20th/21st for Sydney
27th for Brisbane

I'm not sure about second shows in Melbourne and Brisbane. Melbourne because it's a stadium show and they'd want to be sure of having 80% capacity (at least) rocking up on the second night before they confirm a second show. Brisbane because it's so close to the Auckland show.

But they've deliberately left plenty of room for AAMI Park #2. It''s stupid the stadium show has the same ticket prices as the arena shows.

51 hours to showtime.

It was not. Don't like Kitty either, know Sandy but not that familiar with it.

Yes, that can be arranged.

What's happening in Perth on the 6th of Feb? All hotels are massively more expensive that night. Thorn in the side of my plan to arrive in each city the day before the gig a) So I'm not tired and b) in case I want to go line up early.

The band and entourage have booked out half the hotels? If people are flying in from interstate or coming in from country WA they will need to spend the night in Perth if they are going to line up. Plus Thursday flights are cheaper than Friday. Probably a bit of gouging by hotels once they saw demand spike and learnt about his shows.

Nah it makes no sense. Feb 6 (night before the gig) is crazy expensive but Feb 7 and 8 (nights of the gig) are much cheaper.

Stories about ticket sales, scalpers already a $600+ premium on ebay and the fight back by Gudinski and ticketek to stop it.

Good thing we had a preview of this between December and March and know we can get tickets thru the system over the next few months.

Also looks like Brisbane and Adelaide shows ticket buyers got the benefit of having ticket sales pushed back to 4.00pm EST when the system was less clogged. I had my ticket confirmed with 10-20 seconds of the Adelaide tickets going on sale.

Frontier Scold “Unscrupulous” Scalpers, “You Shouldn’t Be Taken Advantage Of”

Bruce Springsteen concert tickets prove hard to come by

If there was any doubt about the wisdom of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band touring Australia twice in 10 months, demand for pre-sale tickets sent the Ticketek website into meltdown soon after 1pm Wednesday afternoon, showing the Boss remains hot property.

Frontier Touring members deluged the Ticketek website trying to snap up the limited number of early tickets for his February 2014 tour – but many left empty-handed after trying over and over to get in. Ticketmaster handled pre-sales for Springsteen's gig in the Hunter Valley, in NSW, but punters struggled there too. They then vented their ticketless spleens on social media.

Kristy Hall was one of hundreds of disappointed fans who posted angry messages on Frontier Touring's Facebook page: "I'm seriously pissed off Frontier Touring!!! I logged onto fronier [sic] at 12:55, went to the presale link at 1pm and couldn't get tickets for my mum who is a HUGE fan but there are tickets already on eBay for $500+ each - time to cancel tickets so genuine fans can get some!!!"

......

Frontier posted a note on its Facebook page citing "overwhelming demand" forcing them to make "the unprecedented decision" to delay pre-sales for Brisbane and Adelaide to allow the Ticketek website to "stablise", creating more upset amongst fans from those cities.

The congestion was affecting more than Springsteen fans too. Alyssa complained that she couldn't buy Paramore tickets because of "Springsteen fans clogging the [Ticketek] site."

Fans also posted on Ticketek's Twitter account @Ticketek_AU, such as Kathryn Rob: "This is total crap! Did u only have about 100 tickets on presale?" In a rare response, Ticketek replied: "Like any pre-sale, there's only a very ltd amount of tix for sale & today there's huge demand."

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN TICKETS SCALPED AS PRE-SALE CRASHES

Tickets for the Perth, Hunter Valley, Sydney and Melbourne shows were put on sale for Frontier members yesterday, with the ticketing company’s website struggling to cope with demand. Both Ticketek and Frontier’s social media accounts were inundated with complaints from punters unable to buy tickets, complaints which continued onto ABC talkback radio this morning.

As a result of the pressure Frontier moved to delay the Brisbane and Adelaide pre-sales yesterday.
“While we appreciate this delay may cause some inconvenience to fans we would prefer that the Ticketek website be stabilised so all users have equal opportunity to purchase for these markets,” they said.
It is also believed that Swiss-based scalpers, who have attacked previous music and sports events, are responsible for a sizeable chunk of the tickets that have appeared on auction websites. Tickets are selling for up to $600 this morning.

Chairman of Frontier’s parent group Mushroom Michael Gudinski has regularly spoken out against scalping, but was unable for immediate comment this morning. The high profile pre-sale meltdown and scalped tickets has once again raised calls for anti-scalping legislation.
Frontier have anti-scalping terms in place, but without legislation it is difficult to track tickets effectively through third-party websites.

UPDATE 4.30pm: In a statement this afternoon Frontier have threatened to cancel scalped tickets.
“Like you, we are strongly against ticket scalping,” they wrote. “We monitor prominent auction sites and wherever possible, we identify the seller and cancel any tickets that are in breach of our Terms Of Sale. We also set a ticket limit of four per purchaser, per show in the pre-sale in an effort to counteract ticket scalping.
“It is worth noting that it is against the Listing Policy of these auction sites to offer products that are not physically in the seller’s possession. As the tickets to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s tour are not yet printed/delivered, any current listings are false.”

They added, “We have the right to cancel any tickets we know are being sold in contravention of our Terms Of Sale – you should seriously consider whether to buy tickets from a scalper. We encourage you to only purchase tickets from our authorised ticket sellers – for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s tour, they are Ticketmaster (for Hunter Valley and Auckland) and Ticketek (for all other shows).

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN TICKETS SCALPED AS PRE-SALE CRASHES

Although this is a little disingenuous as Gudinski basically had already approved a second show.

Springsteen fans get another chance for tickets as second Perth show is announced

AMERICAN rock legend Bruce Springsteen will play a second show in Perth on Saturday, February 8, the night after his sold-out first-ever Perth performance.
After pre-sale of tickets to the first Perth show sold out in minutes amid fury that scalpers stole the jump on fans, promoters came good on a promise that a second show wouldn't be ruled out.

Scalpers were yesterday selling tickets online, including one who advertised two tickets, bought for $320, for $999.

Promoters Frontier Touring said in statement released early today: “Due to the overwhelming response to this week’s pre-sale for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band tickets in Perth, Frontier Touring Company is happy to announce the addition of a second show on Saturday 8 February at Perth Arena.

“This second Perth show has been added to give more fans the opportunity to purchase tickets to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band perform.”

“Both Perth shows will go on sale to the general public at 9am local Perth time on Monday August 26.”

News of the second show comes after an exclusive PerthNow interview earlier this week with Springsteen’s promoter Michael Gudinski, during which he hinted at a second show.

“It may be possible, we will wait and see what happens. With the demand (for tickets) and everything I’d say there would be every chance…I’ve got no doubt we are going to do big business,” Gudinski said on Tuesday.

I tweeted Frontier asking them if I could arrange selling my Sydney seat ticket through them so a) the person buying would know I was legit and b) they'd know I wasn't scalping.

No response...
You'll be able to sell it easily on one of the many Bruce page's on FB.

And if you sell it for cost price on eBay, it's not scalping.

Perf accommodation is always ridiculously expensive. Bugger all hotels available.
