Traded Bryce Gibbs - Pt. 2 - [traded to Adelaide]

Seriously how old are you? Do you think the Carlton recruiters who were fighting for their jobs and reputations were going to be doing Silvagni a favour? Do you think GWS who knew Silvagni was out the door was going to do him and his new club a favour?

Do you think SOS did the opposite thing to what his whole recruiting strategy has been from day dot which is trade out scraps for first round draft picks on this one occasion when he wasn't even the Carlton list manager yet?

Seriously grow up.

Fighting for their jobs? SOS was already locked in to take their jobs...
Why would SOS do a deal that made his new position much worse? It doesnt make sense. He's done it to try to benefit both clubs.

He JOINED YOUR CLUB A MONTH LATER.
He knew full well he was joining Carlton. I'm pretty sure it had even been reported that he'd join after trade period finished.

Therefore why would he take the first rounder of the club hes headed to if what he was giving back was rubbish?

Mate you've smoked one to many cones, you're off your head. THANKS FOR THE CAPS, if you really believe this dribble there is no point trying to have a constructive conversation.

He did. Its a fact. Its not some wild conspiracy theory.

You cant argue that he didn't know he wasn't going to Carlton. It was widely reported before he moved back. Or unless you think within 3 weeks he decided to move his whole family back to Melbourne from Sydney?

If you're willing to deny the easily available factual information, then there's no point in having the discussion.

If GWS knew that SOS was going to be the list manager of a rival club they would never have let him manage their trade period. It would have been a hilariously incompetent business move.

If as you say the deal was already arranged for SOS to move to Carlton, GWS would have stood him down immediately.

So he got offered the role, accepted and moved his whole family in 4 weeks.

Yeah I'm sure SOS had no idea that he was moving back to Victoria to take the Carlton job...

Maybe GWS didnt know but can guarantee Silvagni did.

Why would Silvagni come to Carlton and Jacksh plays 1 game in 2 seasons before being delisted as a 22 year old despite showing great form in the VFL? Why would Silvagni delist Boekhorst and Whiley despite Boekhorst particularly, showing reasonably good form? Really looks like a list manager who was super keen to get these guys to his new club

Mate he was doing the best thing by the club he was employed by at that time, you making it out like you know what he was thinking is humorous. Tell us all about you other conspiracy theories, did man really land on the moon? Aliens build the pyramids?

How is it a conspiracy theory?
He knew he was going to Carlton.

They had already offered him the role.
He tried to do something that benefited both parties. Its not really much of a stretch...in fact it would be more of a conspiracy if he DIDNT do that.

You really think that given the opportunity he would've stooged the blues on a trade even though he knew thats the list he was about to inherit?

Hey Bryce you are going to play in finals --
You will play lots of Friday nights etc on key national tv time slots.
You will play in front of 50 k people in all home games
You will have lots of good players around you .
And guess what real forwards and forward structure to kick to.
Going from a club working out they might have won more quarters than last year to a club very angry lost in a grand final.
Yep I bet he is real sorry he is leaving your club

Buddy it's two clubs trading, with two recruitment teams, not one guy making the decision for both, Carlton had somebody else in charge of recruitment who did the trade on behalf of Carlton, you are making out SOS was trading from Carlton to GWS and back again, and there wasn't somebody else making the decision. Do you understand that now? Not hard surely.

Yeh a whole group but who was the boss... aka List Manager.
Who held the ultimate decision?

Either way your fans unwavering support for the almighty SOS is so unwarranted.

Mate it's it's not "unwavering support for the almighty SOS" as I said in a previous post we are just happy that for the first time in our history we are building the right way, how does this offend you? You have to understand that we had pretty much the worst list (certainly the worst recruitment) in the league when he came to us.

Since then I personally think he's done a great job in the two drafts he's been in charge of, why are you bitter? Is it because he wouldn't give you Gibbs last year for the price you wanted, instead demanding a price that we thought was fair for a contracted player, and one of our best?

Or is it because Reid shot his load early in the media last year, couldn't get it done, laughed at our demand of two first round picks then ponied it up a year later for the same player but now a year older.
No need to be a tit, your team was just in a GF.

Which is far easier when you are cellar dwellers and get more picks and also need to move all the duds on

Remember how you went this year ?

Next year no Gibbs , let's see how many of these 'proven' players like Plowman and Marchbank , McKay and Cunningham step up ( and Macreadie )

At least the club marketing department is going well selling the propaganda to the fans !

Can't wait to finally play you guys at home and see what happens but am a bit timid re facing all these guns that SOS has brought in

We get more picks for being cellar dwellers? News to me..

Silvagni has brought in double the amount of AFL players in the same time as Reid has had at the crows.

Bottom line, players who Reid has moved and are still listed and have played AFL..

In: Gibbs, Keith, Gallucci, Seedsman, Hampton, Milera, Greenwood

Out: Dangerfield, Lever, Lyons, Cameron, Wright and Kerridge

That's not including the draft picks he's traded out:flushed:

And you guys still go in to bat for this guy??

This was the same clown that was claiming Gibbs would sit out this season if not traded last season.
Rebel without a clue.

I'm not bitter at all.
Its pretty hard to **** up having multiple picks inside the top 20 each season.

Although I suppose if you're comparing it to your past guys, then he may as well be god.

...At GWS.

Carlton made a bad trade. SOS was working at GWS.

??

Why would Silvagni entertain a bad trade for Carlton when he knew full well he was about to be responsible for the players that were traded?

It doesnt make any sense.

Its like moving jobs to a new company and stealing all their assets before you get there.
