'BT' and Darcy: The Worst Commentary Team in History?

Definitely agree that most of the blame has to go to Seven. But BT shouldn't get off scot-free just because he's not as bad on radio. I don't disagree with that; he is certainly far more bearable. But he's still not a good commentator. He doesn't know a good percentage of players and really struggles to call the game when something exciting isn't happening.

They do so many strange things at 7. The desk on the ground before the game. Must be freezing and windy. The endless slow motion high fives. I dont know of any sport that does that. But their greatest sin is BT. He is awful. His latest thing is when someone brings up an "interesting" point, like the ball hasn't been inside their 50 for 7 minutes, he says "yes!" like he knew that. "Yes! 7 minutes Richo!"
All Foxtel have to do is provide an alternative and they can have my money.

Not for the first time the buffoons have stated that Dale Thomas' best year was 2010 when it was 2011 that he had his best year. How I'd love to be paid as much as they are to be totally rubbish at my job.

Might be their last game together after BT's homophobic slur against Harry Taylor.
As much as his commentary annoys me. I don't think he meant the slur to be homophobic. You would have to be precious to take offence from BT, most of these words in his vernacular mean a simple put down, nothing more.

Yeah, nah.

BT's bro is gay and I have heard him be quite supportive of homosexuality in the past. Think he was just being a dick. Still think he is an annoying twat .

Sorry, but BT's comment last night should be instant dismissal. If Channel 7 and the AFL are serious about eradicating homophobia out of the game, then the AFL should be pressuring 7 for his resignation, at the very least suspended from his commentary duties for the rest of the season.

If it were a racial slur, then BT would be facing a hell of a lot more pressure to resign than he is now.

He's going to receive 'counselling' for his homophobic rant http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2014/07/13/counselling-seven-afl-****ter-call, I think he also needs to attend an anti-homophobia class, and make it conditional for him to return to calling AFL in future that he successfully completes an anti-homophobia course.

Working for an international corporation means you can't do any of these: sexual, religious, ethnic, racial, gender, weight discrimination.

It was a stupid thing to say, but in these instances there are not meant to be second chances. We'll see what happens here.

EVERYONE should email channel 7 and express how they feel about this.

Conduct of this kind is completely unacceptable. Too many senior figures in the media/AFL get away with such behaviour with a slap on the wrist.

Write to the AFL and the network!!! It'll take a few minutes but people must let them know how strongly they feel about this.

3AW didn't exactly improve the situation with their discussion of it this morning, highlighted by Tony Shaw referring to his own racist remarks and suggesting he was dealt with harshly.

Channel seven are the greater evil here. They have ruined football coverage with their blatant disregard during this rights cycle,

Totally agree with this.

The AFL needs to factor in that 7 have giving the AFL's product (hate that term when talking about the footy) the big finger by refusing to show games in HD, having their commentators clown around and annoy people, and now deliberately plan* to include gay jokes in the pre-match discussion.

As annoying as channel Carlton was during the previous rights cycle, they showed the game in HD and talked about football. Would like to see 10 and 9 collude to push aside channel 7.

*Every second of that rubbish was choreographed - don't believe the bullshit that 7 has tried to float about it being an accident

I really don't care that much if Cameron Ling is going to coach Melbourne.
Ha, yeah, who gives a stuff if he "might consider, possibly, maybe, one day in the future, next year or the year after or the year after that, maybe, I'm not sure, BT...."? And don't they ask him every week? :D
