wadistance what's your opinion on the signing of Bürki? My preference was Kevin Trapp, but reasonably happy with Bürki.

Trapp would have been good, but I think burki has the upsides of trapp without the cost. He is very good with his feet and might get used similar to Neuer.

I'm interested to see how Augsburg and Frankfurt fare. I think it is a good round of friendlies for the BL clubs, and will give a good indication of where they stand against other leagues leading up to the start of the season

What are you guys opinions on Baba Rayman?

Seems like a done deal now for the lad to replace the out going Luis. I'm pretty excited about this one as he looks the goods in the couple of games I saw last season, pretty sure he was ranked number 1 LB in the league and in the top 7 ranked players as well.

I love watching the Bundesliga, great league. Generally I keep an interest on Schalke(I'm a sucker for any team in Chelsea Blue), but watched a heap of Wolfsburg last season(because of KDB and Schurrle mainly) too.

Hopefully Wolfsburg can hang onto Super Kev and give Bayern a run for their money.

Very good young talent - I think i mentioned in the transfer thread that if we hadn't earmarked Dudziak to make that role his own we would have thrown money at Rahman. Issue is he is only a couple of years older than Dudziak and would have basically meant the end for him at Dortmund. You'll have a top talent if you get him

Get on the VW bandwagon. Royal Blue in Germany is unspoken from the region I'm from - and having KDB and Schurrle is a plus for you. Bas Dost also has the greatest strikers name in German football

Do you think KDB will hang around?
I really hope so. Fantastic player. I think that he was underutilised at Chelsea. One my mates who is a die hard chelsea fan thinks that KDB needs to be the top guy in the squad and on the pitch, and thats why he didnt work at your club.

I think Wolfsburg can, and are building a great team around him - he is an assist machine, and with schurrle and kruse on his outside, it could be trouble for many backlines

It seems to be the case, which makes it a bit weird he'd want to go to City and fight Silva/Sterling/Yaya/Nasri for a spot.

Really?

All the clubs have the same ambition, but no one can compete with them financially.
+1

Tell me seriously that any of the other top 4 clubs have no ambition. Bayern have just managed to get around the 50+1 rule by having the most lucrative sponsorship in world sport. Dortmunds ambition almost sent them bankrupt in the mid 200s

I know it's very broken record, but if we didn't have those issues and didn't need release clauses to hold players in the years post bankrupt, Bayern may not have signed MG and we still may have been at the top

Anyhow. I welcome all challengers to the title and I wouldn't be sad to see Wolfsburg or Gladbach win from Bayern. Any competition is good competition

Also, I'm kind of sad that kaiser chief hasn't checked in yet!

Resuts from last nights friendlies

Dortmund 2 - 0 Juventus
Augsburg 1 - 2 Norwich
Frankfurt 1 - 0 Fulham
W. Bremen 3 - 1 Sevillia
Hoffenheim 2 - 1 Leeds

Haven't seen the other games yet, but the Dortmund - Juve game was fairly interesting. The Old Lady didn't really have many attacking runs, and Buffon/Neto had a fair bit to deal with.

One thing I've noticed in Tuchel's game plan is that Dortmund under no circumstances play the ball to their forwards through the air anymore i.e no long passes up the flank. It actually looks like their attacks are planned and not just hit and hope. Weigl looked very impressive at DM and set up a lot of great attacks, with Miki and Reus out wide creating havoc. I'm not sure where Bender is going to fit into the plan, as soon as he came on, the runs dried up - maybe he will be the 75th minute defend a lead sub.

All in all, just a friendly, but already Dortmund are a completely different team to last year.

Once again, wish there were some other BL fans who watched the Bremen/Frankfurt/Augsburg games to give more of a comment. kaiserchief13 - care to give a summary of the Bayern v Inter game?

Bayern dominated Inter but finishing was lacking, notably from Mueller and Lewandowski. New boy Douglas Costa was very impressive as right wing but could improve his passing decision making a little bit.

Formation used was

3-5-2

Neuer
Boateng, Benatia, Alaba
Xabi Alonso, Lahm
Costa, Thiago, Bernat
Mueller
Lewandowski

That lineup makes twelve doesn't it?

Never mind I can't read.

Weigl has certainly exceeded my expectations so far. Reus' goal reminded me of so many he scored for Gladbach

in my opinion, it's crazy when you have arguably the best fullbacks in the world that you wouldn't play them at LB & RB....
Guardiola trying to be too smart for his own good. Doesnt play players to their strengths. Makes them fit into his system.

By the way, I'll actually be in Germany from late sept till mid to late Oct :) hoping to get to the Dortmund game @ Mainz. Dream would be the game @ the Allianz but may be too tricky. Unfortunately no games at the Westfalenstadion whilst i am there (girlfriend booked the flights without me :p )
