It was simply a punch, he'll get 1-2, he is a sensational tagger who gets inside the head of his opponent (and obviously his opponents supporters), he did a great job for us yesterday barring that incedent, and he will have to face the consequences, so get over yourselves and deal with it.

For what its worth, it appeared to me like there was both a punch and an attempted eye-gouge.

You're getting a bit silly here. It's either a punch or an eye gouge - how can it be both?

If Rawlings was trying to eye gouge Williams, he would have kept his hand in Williams' face and tried to push his fingers in Williams' eye. All Rawlings did was punch him - a quick jab.

Just saying what I saw. There are two pieces of footage, from different angles. The wrestle went on for quite some time, and included a punch and an eye gouge exactly as you described it (only it looked more like it was above the eye rather than in it).

The first time they showed the gouge, and Willo pulled his head up and pointed to his bleeding eyebrow:

Then a couple of minutes later went back and showed the jab to the head too. Not sure which one created the wound, but I actually suspect the gouge was more damaging.

Never seen what I assume most people term as an eye gouge open up a wound just under the eye brow. Must be a cross border thing!

Pfft.

He punched him, he broke the rules and he will get weeks.

Whats the problem?

Some people have very short memories. Some years ago at the SCG Brady Rawlings was hit in the face by a Sydney player. He left the ground, bleeding profusely and was unable to return to the ground. There was no action taken because the AFL was slow to initiate an investigation, Channel 7 didnt provide any video footage and Brady didn't identify the player. No doubt, this time, everything will be above board.
