Callum Wilson will get his game this week it seems.... unfortunately looks like Shuey is completely done for this year.

West Coast rookie Callum Wilson has a chance to make his AFL debut against Essendon on Sunday as coach John Worsfold looks to fix the Eagles' goal-kicking woes.

Worsfold said the club was looking to place youngster Luke Shuey (fractured leg) on the long-term injury list in order to elevate Wilson onto the senior list.

so...hansen out for wilson then?

surely we couldnt have a team with hansen, jk, wilson and lynch in it.

Its not confirmed yet. Woosha just had a press conference and stated exactly that. Only factual thing atm is that Luke Shuey has gone onto the LTI list.

Don't forget Seaby resting forward!!

We would be better IMO without Hansen and Lynch + we need to find a quick roving forward ..... it was embarassing on the weekend, especially when Seabs went forward to see these enormous generally slow lumbering blokes, not get the mark and then be liabilities once it hit the ground and no small players anywhere.....

What's Wilson like defensively and off the ground?

He's a utility in the Adam Hunter mould, i.e. he can play either end of the ground and has spent a lot of time in the backline so he had a defensive side to his game as well

I'm really looking forward to him playing for the Eagles, pity it's going to weaken Souths though :(

FF: LeCras Wilson Wirrapanda
HF: Lynch Kennedy Embley

Meaning Wilson in for Hansen. Wirrapanda to play forward so we have a smart crumbing type player. One of either Naitanui/Seaby not required this week due to Essendon's smaller Ruck divison so there will be no resting ruckman. Lynch can be used in the Ruck when needed otherwise plays a lead up half forward role.

Hope NikNat plays against Ryder, would be good to see two ruckmen have a decent leap AT the ball...:thumbsu:

More like
FF Lecras, Hansen, Nik Nat
HF Wilson, Kennedy Brown

Lynch to miss as 3rd ruckmen not required, Mckenzie to come back into the backline to release brown forward.
Still too tall but we are playing the young players that are in form.

Awesome news! Cant wait to see him in action.

Theres so many players I want in the forwardline ATM and most of them are tall :S

F - Lecras, Kennedy, Naitanui
HF - Brown, Wilson, Cockie

I almost think we need to have Kennedy and Wilson in the forward line, Hansen as CHF and Lynch on the ball providing a hard body to help out the young mids.

We need to keep Hansen in the side to get his trade value up!

You really want that priority pick dont you.

191 cm
94 kg

What kind of player is he? FF or CHF?

Is he a purely marking player or is he decent off the ground as well?

What are his strengths and weaknesses?

What would be a good outcome for his first couple of games at AFL? and what is required for him to achieve this? (ie does he need to play key position?)

I wonder if his style of play may help McKinley (make up for his deficiencies/style of play) out rather than 198cm Hansen 94kg

He's played forward and back but has been settled forward for the last half of the season at Souths. Still think he's a couple of cms short, because he's a leading forward and at the AFL level I think he might be spoilt a bit more. He contests marks well, mainly causing a spillage to ground, haven't seen him take too many contested marks but he DOES make the contest. If McKinley learns to crumb he could help him, but LeCras would probably be the bigger beneficiary.

Good luck to him on the weekend, he certainly deserves his chance.:thumbsu:
